I would suggest we should get back in the top 6 pretty quickly so we get a play off place if the season is curtailed!!!

Thomas Frank has asked for all premier league games to be cancelled this weekend

If Championship did end at 75% played = 35 games
1.75ppg for playoff place = 61-62 pts.

So, for us, 28 points from next 13 games

Saturday is a must win!

Think we need to be sure of being in top 6...just in case the season ends early...

No one knows. And i mean no one how this is gonna play out.

This is in the main is the problem.

The uncertainty.

Uncertainty going forward effects everything.

Do you mean just for football or a public lockdown for break?

What's the point of of a football firebreak. If everyone's still mingling indoors and outdoors.

Its nailed on. We all know it.

It will be a delay of 3 weeks so that's what 4 games? 3 League and the FA Cup

Can just about squeeze that into the calendar but definitely not more than that.

Then it will resume with no fas for a few weeks. Then when everything recedes it's back to normal fans wise start of March.

Id have a tenna on that happening

The Championship will not be curtailed, just as it wasn't previously, and for the same reasons. The PL will not agree to any promotion to it from an incompleted season and Sky will want compensating for lost games. Yes it is possible there maybe behind closed doors games of course, but the season will be completed one way or another. Those getting their knickers in a twist about us getting back in the top 6 in case the season ends abruptly are doing so needlessly.

Christmas without footy if they do a 3 week break will be pretty shite. As much as I love Xmas, reality is it gets boring quick.

Seems pretty unlikely to me that the rest of the season will be played out in a normal manner. Either BCD or few weeks suspended incoming sometime soon I'd imagine.

The flip side of this is we played our u23s on Tuesday with no covid players missing, we haven't had a covid breach all season I don't think. Clubs need to wake up and make sure their players are responsible. If we can field our full strength u23s and first team in a week when spurs and man uts can't, what are we doing right that they aren't?

It’s not just players though staff, supporters, crowds, all come into it, I’ll be surprised if we get through this without reduced attendances or a period of BCD.

You'd imagine clubs are telling players to have as little social contact as possible but if they'll pay any attention or not is a different matter.

I don't know about postponements or cancellations but I'd be amazed if the season carried on as normal. This whole thing about the goverment saying 'please don't go to big stadiums' seems like a precursor to an announcement, the way nothing is ever done without it leaking first to test the waters.

I reckon many more clubs than we know about have cases
Stoke apparently have half a dozen or so
Too many footballers are still unvaccinated
Any testing positive will be hit in the pocket by losing appearance fees and bonuses

We need Sat on as they've got about 5 first teamers out injured as well. Be ruthless Cov, be ruthless

Have to say I was a little surprised we had those few first teamers mixed with the U23s on Tuesday, thought they'd be kept separate again as much as possible.

1.6 is usually ok for play off
So would need 56 or 22 points from 13 games
Even logically your numbers are far too high

Quite a few players have had it in the past
But omicron seems to be re-infecting some who've had past iterations of the virus
Especially if they're unvaccinated

Haven't heard anything about Stoke having Covid. They have a lot of injuries as well so if they have Covid as well then they will want this game off. Do you think it'll be off?
