What needs to happen for us to go down next week?

We have to lose, Notts County need to win and Crewe need a draw?

Yes that is the only set of results that will send us down, anything else and we are safe

Totally and completely now I've given up on Nouble.

Not good enough, often enough and odd flashes of brilliance simply won't cut it.

Not necessarily, Colchester can still overtake us.

Colchester win both their remaining games, along with Crewe and Notts County, and we draw with Crawley, us and Crawley would go down.

One saving grace is we only need to look after our own result to stay up...... As was the case today

A point will will do it bar a high scoring win for county.

Looking at the table I would expect Colchester to beat Swindon.

Swindon have absolutely nothing to play for, and would be sensible to rest their best players in anticipation of the play offs.

you are right, colchester said 45 points on the bbc table a couple of mins ago, they must have been slow to update.

I forgot about Colchester, they won't beat Swindon anyway. Swindon will want to keep momentum going into the play offs

Nouble was absoloutley gash today he just lollops about without any final product. Pleased for proschwitz but my god we were awfull. Even grant ward was poor. adam barton has to leave the club! Mowbray will not stay here! sisu out. Very sorry to see also fans turning on each other and racial abuse is not acceptable just because someone leaves after seeing enough! One of the worst sky blue days .im worried

Yes, they are on 48 now, so can get a maximum of 54. If they win their game in hand, we go into the final game knowing that only a win can guarantee our safety. A draw next week can still relegate us.

Don't see it - they need to get back to winning games.

I know he isnt the only one but how Barton is back in the frame is unreal. Come the end of his contract he will not play again in the football league. Nouble similarly will may struggle to find a club higher than League 2.

Next week the front 6 have to pose some threat. I'd give a Turgott a go and start Tudgay ahead of Nouble.

It's amazing how one game can change it all. I think the worry today was the lack of fight.

crewe really are our bogey team!

Well, there's two away games I'll look forward to next season: Northampton sarcasm and Portsmouth (coz I'll only need to hop on the hovercraft and then a short bus ride to Fratton Park!)
We'll soon take League Two by the balls and get promoted! ........... er........'ang on......... haven't we been saying this since we dropped down to the Championship?

You have also overlooked the fact if we draw against Crawley even if Colchester win both games we will almost certainly stay up.

We're talking about mathematical possibilities here. All I said was, as it stands at the moment, we can draw next week and still go down.

I don't see what there is in that statement to disagree with.

I've said something similar on other thread, but Colchester's last game is PNE (need to win to guarantee promotion) so can't see Colchester turning both Swindon and PNE in the same week (PNE will also have had a break). Comes down to N County winning at Gillingham (and Cody is our secret agent there ready to scupper them). Relax folks, we're going to lose on Sunday and still stay up ! A pint to all if I'm wrong

How many goals would notes county need for that to happen?

I said when Mowbray took over it would still go to the last game of the season it has ....we need to win.
Late goals by Sheff United and Peterborough or it could have been worse today.

people who were saying this squad should be top eight have been in LA la land or squad is severely lacking we need at least 4 quality players adding just to start rebuilding.

I’m sorry to say that if we lose at Crawley I believe we will go down. Notts County and Crewe have matches against sides with nothing to play for.

If it happens, we will deserve it because we will have lost the last two games of the season in straight fights against our closest relegation rivals. I thought Crewe’s performance today was an excellent demolition job from start to finish, and that’s what we have to do next week to Crawley - or take the consequences.

I’ve felt the optimism on here was misplaced for the last couple of months, but last week’s results really had me believing we would be OK. This week it has turned around again, and after surviving so many nail-biting finishes in the top flight, I never thought we would be going through the same thing again to stay out of Division 4. It’s so hard supporting this club.

Stretch out Mowbrays record over 46 games and we'd be on the brink of the play offs, even though the last 11 games under him haven't been sensational he's definitely improved the team

Colchester do play Preston at home though who with MK Dons at home to Yeovil will need to win to secure promotion
