Wright is in very poor form.
Simms doing OK.
BTA obviously out at the moment, don't know when he'll be back and his goals have come from out wide anyway.

no they haven’t, BTA scored mainly when playing in the 10, behind the main striker

we miss his, and consequently everybody else’s energy in the press, why have we stopped doing that and are now giving teams far more time on the ball?

I do wish he’d just come out and say we can’t afford players because what he does say or what comes out makes it sound like he’s making footballing decisions not financial ones. Not helped by successive managers acting like they have no clue what happens with transfers until they’re through the door.

Pretty sure we could've afforded Bamford. He just didn't think he was getting good value.

Not really given we had 3 strikers for one position

He probably wouldn't have started a game

Today was one of the easier away games and we were awful and lucky to get a point in the end , we’ve been found out as everything we do has to go through Grimes we need other midfield players to step up and start creating.

We haven't become shit over night. Find some perspective.

We had a game where we had Simms upfront, KKH on one wing and rudoni on the other?

He would have played 100%

He could have played in a front 2, in the 10. He isn’t a winger so doubt he’d play on the wing

Does he ever play as a 10? My point is he probably wasn't getting a crack as starting striker anyway

Had BTA? Bamford has played on both wings in his career also

Can we also give Simms a bit of credit for his goal tonight?!? Thought it was a sweet finish.

Well, except Ipswich who are bang in form and chasing us down.

We're now second in the expected tables which is a tad worrying.

Ipswich and?

What I want to see is promotion. If and when promotion is sealed then look at our chances. I'll settle for 2nd though. 3rd place is the one to watch. Middlesbrough look like falling away. Watford are starting to look good but next they have Hull then Bristol City away then Millwall at home. Watford are 4th and playing 5th, 7th and 8th. Lots of points to be dropped.

All we have to do is keep picking up the points.

Can we forget about Bamford. Bang average journeyman dross. Inflated wages for largely nothing. King is right on this one.

6 of his 10 goals have been when he's played wide.

But regardless of whether they were from out wide or from 10, my point was he hasn't scored many up front and hasn't really been seen as a striker this season. Which is why I think we need another striker.

Relax would be a good place to start.

Our good players haven't suddenly become shite. We're suffering the same as everyone else with illness, suspensions, injuries and fatigue. We still have a big lead and have important players coming back.
Yeah and I'm not buying this "we're not good enough stuff."

It's such fine margins. Could have every easily won today and we played really well against Southampton and I honestly believe, if we had 11 on the field all game, we would have won there.

I am still really positive, because we know Wright has not been on his game, nor has Saka and also Rudoni too. The goals have dried up for now.

Yet we are still 9 points clear of 3rd place (10 with the goal difference)

Those above are not bad players and they will come back into form and we will recruit too.

To get where we are now and as far as the transfer window, 10 points clear of 3rd place, is a most fantastic achievement.

Brau is a clown and needs to be out of the squad now. Bidwell can’t even get a game so bring a new LB to compete with JDS.

Wright is not a starter for us. Either someone buys him or he becomes a bench player. He’s a waste of space.

We need a striker urgently in this window. Not big lumps like we currently have.

We need a creative playmaker urgently.

We need wingers as well.

You make it sound like we need a whole new team

It's been a mixture of things, clearly.

1. Small squad
2. Tiredness
3. Illness
4. Our number 1 striker way out of form and not putting the ball in the back of the net
5. Rudoni, out of form
6. Saka out of form
7. Having to play probably the best side in the league twice within weeks

It's very rectifiable. A few astute signings in this window would really help us regroup and go again.

Keep the faith. I was disappointed with the draw, but looking at the table, it's still all looking very rosy and maybe Rudoni is NOW back on his game at last .
Not sure Rudi is quite back yet. He looked good at Middlesborough when he came on as a sub, same as today.
We have a lot of players not firing for 70, 80 or even 90 minutes. Allen looks good coming on late in games but not great from the start.
Agree with the rest.
Too many people want scapegoats picking on individual players when the above are the main causes of our drop off in form.

This is my worry with King. I can imagine a scenario where we have one coming in on deadline day at the last minute and that's it.

King is shrewd and I dont think he will want to spend money on players that arent good enough for the prem, if he thinks we can get there with what we have.
Thats the problem, unless something changes within the next 2-3 games then we won’t be going to the prem! If that doesn’t happen it’s the inevitable exodus of players at the end of the season! Yet another rebuild

whilst I’m still not sure you’re right re 6/10, I can’t say I disagree with you on the striker front if not for any other reason than to add competition to the two arguable underachievers

the only issue is, do you buy based on good enough to get us over the line, or on good enough if we do get over it?

Ellis has 8 goals 2 assists in 800 minutes.

Which is a goal or assist every 80 minutes. Is that underachieving? I'd say hes doing fairly well.

ok to be clear I don’t think they particularly Ellis, is underachieving, although Haji needs to pull his finger out a bit - I am still at a loss as to why Ellis was dropped when he was on a great run a few games back

that’s why I said ‘arguable’ because that’s what a fair few are opining on here

The idea that the team 8 points clear at the top of the league "needs" to bring in four or more players to get through the season just doesn't hold water to me.

The team that started today still has three of the season's best performers (BTA, Torp and Dasilva) yet still to return. It has two of last season's best players (Wright and Rudoni) going through a grim run of form which is not likely to continue at current levels. The squad is lacking proper backup options out wide and could arguably do with some more competition up front, but with 21 games left you can trust this squad to finish the job without needing a major overhaul - that comes in the summer instead.

Minimum a winger and a 10. Mehmeti and Castledine would be enough for me. Best case you add a 6/8 CM as well so we don’t have to repeatedly turn to Allen and can even maybe give Grimes a rest.
