A bit random I know but I was watching a movie the other night with my son, and he just asked me if I had one choice what film I would have liked to have been in and what character I would play ? After giving it some thought and getting it down to one I chose a Cagney film : White Heat, a great film and Cagney's greatest performance.Anymore choices ?

Growing up it was Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run. Not necessarily being in the films, I really wanted to live my adult life as Burt Reynolds did in them films. Street racing fast cars while playing chase with the police.

Quadraphenia please....massive ride out to Brighton on my lambretta, off me tits on DeXys for a good old fashioned weekender...booze, birds, dancing and a bit of a rumble and mindless drunken vandalism....All to a top notch sound track.

Yes please.

Top of the world ma!

Great shout BBR, he played a lot of gangsters but Cody Jarret always stood out for me.

If I'd have been an actor I'd have loved to have played Peter Sellers role in the Pink Panthers. Not only because I think they are great films but, apparently, working on a set with Blake Edwards directing was a the best fun ever.

you should have said you'd be Donkey then !

Sorry, that part's been taken! :D

Love all Cagney's gangster films but White Heat is my favourite. The bloke in the boot of the car saying he can't breathe,so Cody blasts holes in it ! And when he went to the electric chair and you never knew if he went as a coward or pretended to be scared to turn the young kids off crime.Brilliant films !

Paul Newman I think as Cool hand Luke.
Failing that Mickey Rourke in Nine and a half weeks. :p

Is that a bit like BMX Bandits, but with more adult themes?

BMX Bandits: Taking the Dirt Track All the Way.

See, I'd get that hoping it was porn, but knowing my luck, it'd be teenage boys ragging BMX's around and saying stuff like "Sick dood!!" ad nauseum.

The electric chair scene is from Angels With Dirty Faces not White Heat. I would have loved to be in the musical film High Society as one of the band members on the bus then singing What a Swell party with Sinatra and Crosby. :)
