Too many variables.

Keep this team fit, and mid table.

Lose players through burnout/injury/sales and well be lucky to survive.

Sorry didn't answer OP: a club our size should be targeting promotion. Full stop.

depends the time we get out the relegation zone, say we get out in the next three games then we could be in and around the play offs come the end of the season

When I posed the original question I hoped people would reply positively and by reading through everyones posts it's good to see that even thow there isn't much faith in the owners there's plenty of faith in the manager and the team can only be a good thing

Can't see us getting through a couple of rounds in the major cups though, as we went out in the first round of the League Cup!

Can see us doing the play-offs myself, couple of wins in our next three and we'll have one more point than the same stage last season.

Scored 9 goals at "home" before the end of August, took us until the middle of November to achieve that feat last season in the league I think, so some positives.

I think that our start has been much better than expected and reflects great credit on the manager and the players.

I do worry though that with a young and thin squad, it will be difficult to maintain it as the months go by.

The older ones amongst us may remember Bobby Gould's team (first time round) that beat Liverpool 4-0, was 4th just before Xmas and then avoided relegation by winning on the last day.

Hopefully we can get in some reinforcements, but without them I worry that it will get tougher as the season goes on.

My realistic target is to see the back of SISU and new ownership.

The rest is irrelevant.

Until SISU are gone this isn't Coventry City Football Club.

I'd rather get relegated to the Conference because of financial irregularities*, if it meant this verminous hedge fund no longer owned the club I've supported for half a century.

*quite possible considering today's revelations.

Remember Leeds and their 15pt deduction!! The way I see it the team will be wanting to play at the Ricoh asap, and to keep winning is the quickest way back when sisu realise the money they could be making....so that means play-off possibility for me!

Like your thinking, but it is logical and practical.....not SISU thinking I'm afraid.
