Hello,
I wrote an article in early December looking at how well Coventry were doing and this was greatly recieved by your fans.
Due to this i have kept an eye on Coventrys results and needless to say they have gone severly down hill.
I have now written a follow up article looking into the reasons for this downturn in fortune and looking at realistic goals for the rest of the season.
It would be great if you could have a look and share your views as you are the fans in the know.
The website is www.shoutsfromthestands.com the first article you will see is the newest piece on Coventry City and within that article there is a link to the previous one with various respones from Cov fans.
Thanks for your time

To be honest i dont even know whats happened!
We have had many key injuries, but i dont think that can be blamed for such a massive drop!

When we were playing "well" we were getting 1-0 wins - we never smashed teams to pieces - Aidy said we were a work in progress, give the man time, his interview pre-season was fantastic, he didn't sit on his ass between Watford and colchester he got himself clued up.

Ben Turner... Was top of the championship players index before he got injured he was scoring goals and was a rock defensivly the sooner hes back the better.

Exactly what I was going to say: Ben Turner
We've been shit without him and he's been a revelation under Aidy; doesn't make mistakes like last year, is positive going forward and getting goals from set pieces. I'm so glad he signed a new contract without any issues!

as per previous posts. We rely on having no injuries whatsoever. First choice 11 are o.k and probably mid table fayre. How we got to 5th I'll never know. For a club that always claims to be lucky, in some of those Autumn games we had bags of it

i've been reading your posts on the CET for quite sometime Macca, you need more faith in the team, and i'm not talking about looking through our famed Sky blue tinted monacles!

Our first team is play-off worthy, IF Boothroyd had the funds, we would be top 5, he doesnt.

we were linked heavily with Tierney, if Boothroyd had got the money from SISU, he would have got him, then we'd have no left back problems.

Turner / McPake / Wood / Crainie are all quality central defenders and we've been missing 2 of them for awhile now.

I believe strongly that Keogh is a good player, his game has improved a LOT, and i think next season he'll be a quality Championship player, remember this is his first season here.

our midfield was unbelievably good until december january when we got hit simultaneously with injuries etc

Clingan / Carsley = injured
Doyle / Thomas = left the club and nothing Boothroyd could do about it

All our team needs is a pacey winger and a brilliant left back, and we'll be top of the sodding league!!

I take your points but there are a lot of if's. The hard facts are that we don't have any funds which means we don't strengthen and don't have quality cover which is why I am a little downbeat. I'm afraid the old sky blue glasses fell off a while back. I think its the lack of anything interesting happening these days which leaves me a little deflated.

I also don't remember our midfield being used before December

haha, it was used...

...to help pass it back for the long ball

dont you find it ironic how the long balls are now being used against us and catching us out?
