Following CCFC has become such a beloved part of my life and central part of my routine, and I've made so many friendships I wish to keep, that I can't imagine not renewing my ST as long as I can afford to.

Not going up this season after the lead that we had at the top would be pretty fucking gutting and I'm under no illusions that there would be a mass exodus - definitely MVE, Rudoni, EMC and Wright but probably Lampard and possibly even King will all leave - but I'm there whatever form the club takes.

Certainly wouldn’t be doing it lightly to be clear. My wife has gone from not really following football to saying she loves the club. It’s been a big part of my life for about 25 years but Saddle is right above, once the hope isn’t there anymore it doesn’t feel worth going.

There's always hope, even in days far darker than these, there was hope.

There's no judgement from me to you or anyone else and I apologise if my post came across that way; we all have but one life to live and the right to do what we want with our time and money, after all. Just giving my perspective

The “hurt” people go on about from losing the play offs and the semis of the cup would pale far, far into insignificance. To the point they could finally watch the Luton and Man Utd highlights and smile.

I think for some with the ST it would just maybe be a case of 'whats the point' when seemingly especially after this season it seems we will never ever do it

Most fans (over the age of 30) have supported this club through plenty of shit but in recent years we’ve had some amazing times; couple of promotions, FA cup run, the run to the plays off final. Stuff fans of many clubs could only dream of. Unfortunately this seems to have bred an entitlement especially from those that haven’t gone through the bad times.

If fans want to give up after a season where we finished in the play offs, at a time when after years of shit ownership we are competitive, finally own the stadium again and there’s investment in the club, it would be strange but if they’ve got better things to do with their cash/time then that’s their call

No not at all, everyone buys an ST in the hope that this is the year

-But when you lose on Penalties in a play off final
-Lose in the 123rd minute of a play off semi final
-Bottle the biggest lead ever seen in the championship and not go up
-slightly different but get cheated out of an FA Cup final

You probably start to think that maybe you're destined to never get the success deserved

Just how I see it. We were there in League 2 and always had hope it would turn.

The difference is that this is the best chance the club will ever get. Blow it and it just never will happen.

And a lot of the things we hoped for came to fruition, that can happen again.

I don’t agree, which is why I’ve come to that decision if what looks likely to happen ends up happening.

‘It never happens for people like us’.

It takes a certain self-importance to confidently predict the club’s fate for the rest of time.

Ah yes, the same Le Bris who took Sunderland on a poor run of form after being top?
I’d look at Robbie Savage.

His win percentage is good but I think he's far too maverick for this level. Could see him losing the dressing room and randomly falling out with people, including the owner.

Didn't King state the 5 year plan in the summer after the 2023 play off?

I agree. And in that best shape, it took a 13 point lead at the top and pissed it away.

Fair enough.
Though if we can come back from L2, exiles, the shit owners, the hostile council and most of all, Russell Slade, we can come back from this, (if we fuck it up)

Nah. We keep buying them in the hope we see it being ‘our’ season. Blowing promotion like this would confirm in my mind that it never will be.

Think I'm a chunk older than you mate, so at least your odds of seeing it are considerably higher than mine! Hopefully we both get to see it, and I might try and stubbornly hang on until i'm about 105, so if it is in a few decades time, my then 93 year old wife can push me in a wheelchair to watch the celebrations!

It’s gone. We’re level again. We started unbelievably well (far better than expected from team/squad), now other teams are having a purple patch. Thats football. Still all to play for.

usual embarrassing responses I see. We must have some of the most self entitled professional victim fans on the planet.

and that’s what makes the good times even better. Keep believing, if not now, then there will be another time.

of course this would be catastrophic in terms of likely be few years re building again, but it has been worse.

All is not lost yet. Keep believing - my kids are brilliant for that, they just say, fine win next week

What a lot of nonsense on here. Lampard walking, fans not renewing. All total garbage of course. Some need to get a grip.

No, the Le Bris, who despite the wobble, led Sunderland to playoff success and has done very well in pretty much ensuring Premier League survival and is only 6 points off for a place in Europe.
