I thought we were supposed to be ready to go bang, bang, bang as soon as the embargo was lifted?

Thorn today has said “After losing out on a few signings during the embargo it was important to nail Shawsy down and hopefully we can get some players in now as well.
“We’re working on it and talking to a few and hopefully we will get them in and everything can be positive again."

You have to think the bang, bang, bang thing then was Collins and Syers, but surely that is just a bang, bang. Where did the other bang go?

Doesn't sound to me like we had many lined up at all. Now seems like we are back to just talking to players again.

The way he's worded that does make me think Shaw was one of the 'bang's' but I think that comment has been taken a little too literally. As said above we rarely do things quick and I imagine our budgetry constraints haven't helped. The window itself hasn't opened yet and it is still June, so theres still a month and a bit to go before we need to start panicking.

I was with Maik Taylor at the weekend, he still speaks with Sheffers and he reckons Gary told him he thinks he will be sold to allow money and players in!! Think that most of the High Earners are being earmarked for sale. We will buy but we need to sell first, not sure how the squad size will increase too much.

One of the biggest lessons we have to learn from last season is that the squad was too small and needs to increase greatly!

We end up with the same sort of size club and we will be blooding even younger kids this season to come.

Of course. Lessons have to be learned. But we've only been out the embargo a week. If we haven't made any signings in 2 weeks THEN I'll be worried.

The point being they said they would extend the early bird so they could bring some signings in so supporters could make up their mind's. So far we've signed Richard shaw. Who no offence, I wouldn't have got excited about signing 15 years ago.

i think we all know most, if any of our signings will be free transfers, and i understand that player contracts are tied in until the end of june??? someone correct me if i'm wrong.

so no deals will be done until next week at best once they officially become free agents

Is that consistent as we've missed three on the list through the embargo and had that not been in place been lead to believe signings would have been made.

I think Torchomatic bought his ST before last season finished mate.....He was never going to do anything else. All this bulls**t about delaying the "Early Bird" till end of June so we can make an "Informed decision" to buy STs'.
