What other players do we need to complete our squad? For me it's a centre back and at least one central midfielder.

I honestly don't know why SP thinks we don't need a central midfielder. Thomas was left out for SU and thank god and we won the game. What if Fleck and Thomas injured or suspended at same time?

We need 3 players, 1 big target man, 1 towering dominant cm and a quality cb and then get rid of Mcqouid and save his wages.

A central midfielder in the mould of Julian Darby, if you ask me.

I'd agree with that, maybe a wing back also. Clarke has been pretty average there so far and it gives him an opportunity to move back to centre back so strengthens in that position also.

Am I the only one who thought Finch looked crap against Cardiff. Looked out of his depth and very very green and is not a good player for league 1. I am trying to knock the kid as he is young and tried etc but he was crap lets be honest.

Phillips looks good and this James Maddison is very small but looks very skilful that's for sure.

Yeah I agree thought he looked very light in the tackle and a bit shell shocked think he's one for the future rather than now might be better used as a cameo player this season . Put him in against a seasoned tough pro and he could be exposed

For crying out loud, he's 17. He wasn't great but can we not just jump down these kids throats if they have a bad game.

We need an experienced goalkeeper - which we will not be getting.

Ideal but I think Pressley is ok with the choice he has. Before Westwood we had dreadful keepers really post Hedman.

I agree actually. Particularly as Allsop is only a 6 month loan.

Would then send Burge out on loan for 6 months to league 2.

I see Mcqoud more midfield, so another striker.
Desperately need a defensive mid and if he can play CB all the better.
If we could get a mid/wb all the better.

Prepared to give keepers a bit longer, but may need bolstering?

All we need is to return to the Ricoh, and that will give the current crop of players a bigger lift to do ok.

As I said I do aplogise about jack finch as he tried hard but at 17 and he had a crap game but he is 2 seasons as said away from being any sort of good. At 17 I was still at school and to think of playing against men in a decent level of football like league 1 then it's simply not good enough.

Too be fair if he is not good enough they shouldn't play him, age shouldn't come in to it.

I not having a go as I haven't seen him play so can't comment if he is any good or not.

Anybody making a professional debut deserves a fair amount of tolerance. I don't know what your profession is but I bet you were pretty crap on day one? I bet your first day at work wasn't measured against the performance of people who were fully trained and experienced?

Professional football should be no different, you have to give them wings at some point!

We definitely need a centre forward who can hold up play as all the forwards we have now are pretty similar, we could also do with a holding dominant midfielder if we get the players to fill these rolls and are half decent I think we can have a successful season.

Yes fair point and yes I was crap to start with. I accept that but in football it seems a bit different as there as under 18 and under 21 teams and to get ready. In football you lose matches for thousands of fans and other professions don't have this pressure or requirements.

Listen I have no doubts he will go on to become a decent footballer or at least I hope so for our sake of course I wish him all the best but at 17 I just don't think now is the time or place. I out George Thomas in this catorgory. Seems to be highly regarded and thought of but seen him a few times now and at 16 and 17 now he is 4 years off being anything. This is why I'm happy with Jackson signing today.

Please don't think I am being harsh I am just calling it as I see it and I wish the youngsters all the best 100% and always will but there is a time and a place.

A great quote I will never forget about Jordan Clarke "this man has played over 100 times for the ccfc shirt and in reality should not of played 1 game"

One Centre Back, one defensive central midfield.......I like the fact that Fleck, O'Brien and Swanson did well as central three last Saturday but still have concerns if we play these three long term defensively.....we're not looking too bad though to be honest....I think squad in league 1 realistically should be 25 with some academy players in it.

Currrently

Goalkeepers: Allsopp, Burge
Defenders: Clarke, Phillips, Webster, Johnson, Willis, Pugh, Haynes, Finch*......need someone in place of/in addition to finch
Midfielders: Swanson, Coubilly, Daniels, Thomas, O'Brien, Fleck, Maddison, Baker*, Barton* need player/players in for Baker, Barton
Forwards: Jackson, McQuoid, Tudguy, Miller, Thomas* ideally would like big target man to add to mix

Even if we did not get anyone not worst squad in the league anyhow....beginning to feel slightly positive.

Centre Backs available for free include:

Sean St Ledger
Zat Knight
Anthony Gardner
Danny Gabbidon

Centre Midfielders include:

David Fox
Marvin Elliott
Nathan Doyle
Mikele Leigertwood
David Prutton
Darren Ambrose

Plenty I would take there.

Struggling free strikers. Would go back in for Michael Smith. Seems the kind of player we need, and young too.

Better still: Sell City to Red Bull. RB leipzig 2. Liga with 30 Million Budget. Undefeated for 15 games. Knocked Paderborn 1. Liga out of the cup. Play in their own City with 25000 fans ( last game ),
