Getting excited about the opening game.
A nice new pitch - new signings - and no losses so far!

I love the first game of the season.

Yeah same here. The first sight of the pitch when you walk up thr stairs is ace.

Being at HR was magical on the first day of the season.

Like you said it's the pitch, the sunshine, new players and a large dose of optimism.

My sons first season ticket starts tomorrow up to now he’s been a glory fan and thinks that we go to play at Wembley every year.

Also seeing the people who you sit with and seeing if they are all still alive

Seeing all the supporters in the sun, the same faces you have seen over the years getting older as we do,the announcer I could hardly make out what he was saying, the lovely green pitch and the massive cheer as the ref blows the whistle to start the season.

I dont miss my old dad 200 ft walking behind me talking to every fooker, him saying who is no.9 who is the no.4 every two mins and him screwing up my program that I was saving for later! (I do really but at the time it used to wind me up!).

The crushing disappointment when after an opening day shocker you realise all your close season optimism was completely unfounded.

Highfield road in the sun as you walked through between the north and east stand smell of cut grass pies being cooked

It's the walk from the concourse up the stairs and the feeling as more and more of the pitch and stadium reveals itself. Always gives me a warm glow. Then the old familiar faces nodding in recognition as you make your way to your seat.

As its the first week of the season we should have an award for Dick splasher of the week or month if it gets boring.
It goes to the poster who makes such a consistant dicksplasher of himself in that current week or month.
I know slightly off topic but I had never heard the term before and strangly it keeps making me laugh.

Same for me, Harry. I always get a tingle up my spine when I see the pitch, green and lovely.

Getting ready in the morning, putting the new shirt on for the first time (superstition of mine) arguing with the three sun's as to who's going to be designated driver. Few pints in the casino then go to get our seats, always the biggest thrill seeing the team run out and the game beginning

I like not being 100% sure on who the new players are when they come out to warm up

I remember first game of 1999/2000 and cheering loudly for Youssef Chippo jogging towards the West terrace to warm up, when I mistakenly thought that he was Hadji!

The best thing about the first game is there's still 45 games left.

Looking for a bar with Sky Sports to catch up on the scores.
Normally on holiday, as I am tomorrow.

The three points, and turning off Brummie Nick and his ilk on the phone in on the way home. Just have the volume a tiny bit so can turn it up when Mark Robins comes on, normaally just as I get home.
