I listen to the Danny Bowes show on Planet Rock. And he likes listeners to send him questions to his programme. I asked him this poser " if he had a fire in his home and he only could save one album, which one would it be ? " He loved the question and chose Bowie's Aladdin Sane. I chose Fire And Water by Free, no pun intended, and he played the track Fire And Water on his show. He's asked listeners to send in there one saved album now. What Album would you save ?

My problem is all my albums are packed in a cabinet in random order so finding a specific one would take too much time.
However, if I could save just one it would be the original "Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits".
It was the first album I ever bought so not only is it a great album but it also has sentimental value.

Yes they repeat his show on Thursday. He liked my question, and he like you has Aladdin Sane framed on his wall. I asked him a few months ago what band would he have liked to be in other than Thunder ?
He chose Slade. Got my Rockblock on Saturday 1pm I've sent in a couple, cover versions and debut tracks. Not sure which one they chose, but they texted me saying listen in on Saturday.

I have this one as well - bought it from a secondhand shop in Hampton maybe in 1970 ish for 50p could not have been out long - we had two shops that we would cruise on a regular basis - some choices were pot luck because they wouldn’t play the records and we had no idea if we were going to like the music - I remember picking up the first Rory Gallagher album - was a real bonus

Went there a few times. Also saw The Mission perform there. I loved the place not too big, not too small, bit like the General Wolfe pub.

saw loads of bands there, some that went on to be big, Red hot chilli peppers, Kings of leon, (I think it had changed to the academy when I saw Kings of leon there).
Not so keen on the Academy now it's in the old Dome though I can't put my finger on why. Used to love the Dome back in the 80s when it was a night club.

Big Country now doing a Steeltown tour sadly of course without Stuart Adamson - General Wolfe now there’s a venue where much enjoyment happened when I live in Coventry in the early 80s

Yep 30th anniversary of that album. Shame they are not coming anywhere local really. Seen them lots of times over the years and most recently at the Leamington assembly rooms a couple of years ago, but yes I agree, never the same with out Adamson.
