Sky Blues taskmaster gives team-mates a 'sore head' at times

nice to hear that training is no longer slacking off time. Also its mentioned that O'Brien and Macdonald are also very vocal

so looking forward to seeing a CCFC team with heart this season

Looking forward to seeing Doyle and Kelly push other teams around and get in their faces!

Was good to watch against MK Dons. Kelly intimidating with his random screaming.

Actually really hope he's a bit of a nutter. We were too soft last year - this year i want scalps!

When we finally got shot of him, never envisaged a time where he'd be exactly what we miss.

It was a bit random, as soon as we lost possession he was screaming "press" and running as fast as he could towards their players shouting it.

Sounds like the complete opposite to random

I don't remember all this fondness of Doyle when he was last here, all he got was a lot of stick from our fans

We weren't in dire need of a bit of passion, aggression then though. I never had a massive issue with him, he did his job well.

Agree with all on here. he wasn't overly loved - but we were playing at a higher level - I do remember opponents hating him though - and we have missed a Mr nasty for quite some time - throw in Kelly and both the DKE's, muscle from Stokes and McDonald and we look quite an aggressive team?

He'd just cracked it on the back of someone in the crowds head for slacking.

Just trying to figure out, I think hes saying "get off the fucking pitch"

didn't know about this one though:

no issue with him making sure no one slacks but he needs to make sure he doesn't attack or bully players. sure fire way to cause civil war rift in locker room as friends side with one or the other

Always remember the infamous bustup he had with page!

Suppose that's the downside of having more 'characters' in team, more risk of rifts in etc but I'd much rather have a team of Doyle's than the 11 softies we'd field week in week out last season

Doyle and Stephen Hughes were our midfield dream team back in the day, now it will be Doyle and Kelly

He was always about my favourite player, but I did seem to be in the vast minority in his later seasons... although compared to some of the midfield tripe that followed, we were spoilt.

(About the only McAllister signing who worked out straight away, too?)

Bit concerned he might be past it now but hey, we're even shitter than when he was here first time I guess

Still need convincing (but I am warming to him, and since it looks like he's likely to be our captain, I'm just gonna have to come to terms with the fact I'll be watching him week in week out . But I won't concede defeat just yet on him)

Glad he's here as he's probably what we have been missing for a couple of seasons with the pansies we have had in and around midfield. What makes me laugh is that people are saying "he's a good L2 player" when we wasted 7-8 years persisting with him as the mainstay of our midfield in the Championship!:banghead:

I do worry about his age as his whole game seems to be about energy and getting in faces as opposed to controlling games and spreading passes (which is how most older midfielders stay in the game... Wise when he was with us and on a bigger scale pirlo, gerrard etc) hard to knock someone with his passion and will to win though.

I'm actually looking forward to next season.

Look at how many games he played last year, in the league we now find ourselves in. I don't think he will find it too hard.
Glad to see him back, wish we'd gone for him a couple of years ago, although I would agree that he was probably not good enough for the Championship.
