I'm afraid its true. Westwood to Villa.
Westwood lone lap around the pitch was predictable.
Quirke doesnt look quite ready for first team.
Fingers crossed someone like Murphy in on a free

The radio said that the move was to Celtic? ..Would be a crap move for him if that is true.

Definitely going after he went round the fans a second time, sad because he's been great for us in the 3 years he's been here, will be remembered fondly. I'd quite like him at Celtic, would mean i could keep cheering him! Really really hope it's not Villa!

When he's signed for anyone I will wish him all the best always puts 100% into every game and has won us so many points its unreal. To those who will slag him off go support another team, I like Westwood look to improve my job everyday too and my wages also, every footballer does.

Heard talk about Westwood to Leicester today. How much truth in it I don't know but they also said it was an offer of not much more a week than we offered. If it is true what are our thoughts now on him? I know what mine would be / are!

To the OP, Quirke did all that was asked of him today, looks a great prospect and loves the club. The save lowdown 1st half was superb! Loved his dummy-and the way he bollocked the senior pro's around him when they deserved it.

Re: Westwood, I reckon it's Celtic. Kris Commons has done ok out of his move there, as has Ledley at Rangers. It's a well trodden path for players too good for this league who haven't quite attracted enough Premiership interest.

I too loved Quirks dummy....but Thorns reaction tells me he wasnt too impressed!! Luckily it paid off, but he could have ended with a redder face than sir alex's nose if it hadnt worked!

Does not make sense Celtic have a decent Keeper.....

I have been to tw oold firms this season and believe me that really is pressure for a keeper

First rule of any forum, I do not believe any shite that is spouted

Or, he could actually have a shoulder injury.

BackRoom, who is Celtics number 1?? (Being lazy by asking, i could look it up). Is it Fraser Foster?? If so, hes a decent keeper and probably no different to Kieron!

It is Forster , they have also a sub keeper who plays in the Scottish cup from Poland called Zaluka , who plays as good as a Championship goalie. KW is good but I cannot see where or why Celtic would want him.... unless he has the need to play for Celtic having Irish Blood so to Speak.

I tell you what , I would take a straight swap right now Forster and KW

Fraser Forster is on loan from Newcastle, plus Westwood's out of contract so Celtic don't have to pay anything. Which apparently was close to what they offered last summer when Boothroyd made the haggis comment

Forster's had more clean sheets in the league this season than any celtic keeper for the last 8 years. More than McGregor, Boruc, Gordon and Klos. He has 19 clean sheets with 5 games to go; the SPL record is 21. Not bad for a loan keeper, eh?

I wonder if they will try to sign him

Compleat Angler smells of urine but they serve away fans so it'll do, when you come out of trai. Station instead of turning left towards the ground, go diagonally right (following the pavement) and it's on the bridge going over the river.

Would be a massive mistake to go to Celtic imo. Huge club great tradition and of course the Irish connection, but going nowhere in a pointless league. Needs to play in the EPL imo.

Also, I'm not sure about Westwood, I want to know where the rumours come from, i didn't stay for the farewell, it'd be interesting to see if he makes an appearance at carrow road. I've seen Joe Murphy twice this season, once he was a but suspect against us, the other time Norwich put 6 past him with ease.

Don't get me wrong - I was happy with Quirke's performance today, but I thought his kicking has room for improvement and he did not command his 18 yard box enough

He actually had about 4 or 5 kicks which went straight to a striker in space and two of these times we almost scored.

And I saw him shouting his nuts off during corners and some open play. Think he just needs a bit more experience and he'll have a better overall command of his area.

your right there im-confused he will get better with experiance but all in all he had a good solid game and dose give us hope in the goal keeping area if we fail to bring in another keeper but a question to you all is he better than ireland

plus the defenders could help by passing back to his right foot rather than thinking westwood is in goal and passing to his left

Im not sure whether hes better than Ireland tbh. Havent seen enough if either of them to judge!

Howevr, im pretty sure Thorn wyiuldnt go with him if he wasnt sure he could do the job!

Guess we'll find out if either are in Thorns plans when its announced whether they are gettin contracts or not.

Either way i think we need to bring in a new number 1

Wouldn't surprise me if Tottenham came in after another Gomez slip up yesterday.

Having worked with them both in the academy GK arena, IMO, Quirkey is better than Ireland and if I had to choose which to offer a contract to it would be Quirkey but tbh he would benefit from working with another senior GK for a year or two and be an able number 2 when called upon.

city are worried about quirkes height, they think he is a couple of inches to short for a top line keeper
