Their bloke got the ball out on the touchline for their 1st
He was allowed to run in to the area unopposed and set up the goal
Yeah but he tried to send him down the line and didn't want to give a penalty away, give me strength

He didn't set up the goal, he had a shot and his shot was blocked and rebounded out of the box to Mowett. I'd have said the same regardless of the defender.

Okay, he set up the opportunity by being allowed to run and cross unopposed.
It was piss poor defending and not for the 1st or last time by a full back that doesn't engage his winger

He's backing off as he's trying to show him line and not overcommit himself allowing to the player to cut onto his favoured left foot. He's also in the box, so doesn't want to over commit himself and give away a penalty. His backing off worked as the lad does cut in on his right foot and Bidwell blocked the shot. Bidwell did his job there.

Don't agree. There's jockeying to show the guy the line and weaker foot or there's just backing off because you can't handle the guy. Bidwell was the latter . He was five yards off him.

Bidwell is without doubt the most over rated player on this forum.

Agreed. Hes a solid player, no more and no less and the hero worship of him is a bit strange. Then again, many English football fans love a blood and thunder, average player.

Sorry, can't have that JB was at fault for that 1st goal last night. ultimately blocked cross, then from the freeze frame of Mowatt striking ball - we were well populated, engaged enough on mowatt and his shot was not going to trouble Collins.

To concede from that position was so unlucky, we were staying narrow and flooding middle of pitch. Doesnt always have to be blame of someone - its was just so unlucky for us.

We actually defended better up until 70 mins - thereafter felt we gave up and became ragged

To biggest issue last night, amongst a few was the inability to take our chances. Thats cost us.

Agreed.

In all honesty, it was a drab game and overheard a few Baggies fans saying we looked shit. In my view, WBA looked drab themselves.

They definitely moved the ball quicker than us in the final third but they didn’t create of real note. Their first goal was fortunate - we had a like-for-like chance and it went wide after the deflection. Their second goal was just terrible defending from Lati, an incredibly soft goal to concede, which is the story of our season so far.

Bassette had a great chance to put us 1-0 up but is too one footed, Eccles put in a few dangerous crosses, Rudoni/Torp should’ve buried that chance to name a few.

Overall, despite the scoreline I thought we did alright. Baby steps in the right direction.

there were times last night we looked completely clueless going forward.
well, i say going forward. what i really mean is passing the ball across the back 4, and then inevitably back to the keeper. again and again and again.
the occasional ball dinked over the top was the only times we looked like something was gonna happen. and we even stopped doing that after a while for some reason.

desperate for some creativity in the centre of the park.
and for haji to come back.

Yeah, he does some things really well and some things really badly. He's just an average championship defender.

And I think you're right. I wonder how he'd be thought of if his name was Jaques Bidet and wore an alice band!

We are sorely missing Haji, Collins keeps disappointing and Milan is looking clapped out.

Yes MVE looks absolutely knackered.

Unfortunately the only alternative is Latibeaudiere. Might have to take the hit of playing him there for a game just to try and get van Ewijk back to his old self.

Could we try Eccles if I’m not wrong he played there during his development here especially if it’s just one or two games

I’d stick Eccles at RB of all our options. Lats is OK but not good enough on the ball. I’m not convinced all MvE needs is a rest but maybe.

They did the double over us last season, in similar circumstances when Viveash was coaching. Just for balance

So your logic is not to trust what the manager tells you then ? haha
My logic is either you trust the manager and keep him. Or you don’t trust his judgement and remove him. You can’t claim you wanted 3 play offs in five seasons and then suddenly change that measurement because your manager told you something different, but then decide that manager’s judgement is not good to actually keep him in the job haha. It’s just confused thinking. Simple as that.

Also I repeat what I said previously . You seriously expect King to come out and say the players are shit and nowhere good enough for the top 6 ?
Get real.
Nope I wouldn’t expect that. His original measurement of 3 play offs in five seasons seemed a reasonable one. He then had to justify getting rid of the manager, so changed it by saying the squad was top 6 quality and the manager wasn’t delivering that. He dug (no pun intended) himself into a hole.

He does. By all means give Dasilva stick when he fucks up, he deserves it. Just be consistent with it. Bidwell is totally immune from criticism by some, it's really weird. He was at fault for a few goals at the start of the season which seems to have been forgotten about.

Which was he at fault for. I’ll be interested for you to tell me

It's not a reasonable one with a mid table budget. It means you need to over achieve every year. You might be able to do it occasionally but it's not going to happen year in year out when you are prepared to sell/not rd sign your best players to fund the following season.

It can only work if your 'moneyball' decisions all work out good.

Please fl drop Collins. Worst keeper out the three. Has he actually saved a shot yet as it seems everything hit beats him and as for his boots are rhey superglued to the goal line

Wilson did exactly the same when Robins brought him back from the dead last season. Saved 1 shot in 4 or 5 games, an absolute pea roller, and generally flapped about.
Dovin should be in goal really, its a bit of a mess.
