Over 31,000 then.

Shame there will be nearly 1000 empty seats with segregation.

Notice they say "record league attendance" which means its going to be lower than 31,407 which was the FA Cup attendance against Chelsea in 2009.

Capacity of the ground dropped when the bigger scoreboard was put in

Hate the gatekeeping shite. Course some fans went when others didn’t due to several reasons. We should be happy the club is growing.

It’s almost like they’re shocked that clubs higher up the pyramid get more fans.

They must have zero knowledge of other clubs

Probably not as many lost though. That corner screen was a lot smaller than the new one

It was but the position of it in the corner took up a lot of space. It was about 4/5 rows if I remember correctly.

There must be a temp fix for the final two matches. Additional staff to check ticket/access levels and police it. The big issue I can think of is where these "seat only" ticket holders could go for refreshments, but again I think with a bit of will/brain power that could be resolved in a temp fashion.

That's a good suggestion, as for refreshments no voucher no drink or food, give out a voucher for tea and coffee at half time.

If you want to drink just pay at the bar, problem solved.

Obviously it depends on how many tickets they sell for the balcony bar hospitality.

Sky Blue Pete if you're reading this put it to the club at the next fans forum.

While you’re at it, please ask what the absolute capacity of the ground is.
Be interesting to know how far off we’ve being from completely filling it

Remember those days.
Me and my brother were saying how sad it was that most of our supporters including us, were older fans.
Now it is great that the younger generation and woman that are attending, as us oldies are slowly dying off.

Think you’d have to segregate them from the bar area entirely. I don’t think you could out another 400 people in there safely.

I think the press box idea is probably the best to use that space.

My brother got married at midday when we were home to Newcastle, I was at the wedding and left straight away for the game and got back in time for the party at 7pm. I am sure I didn't get changed in between so must have wore my jeans to his wedding.

And fair play to them. The crowds during our 87 Cup run were 16k average yet there were far more fans out there.

How do they calculate what is deemed safe? There seems to be far more room per person on the balcony than there is in the concourse of the tier below.

Wish if this group makes decisions that impact the football club, they could have to publish the reasoning behind? Seems at the moment they leave the club to explain unpopular decisions like the parking and balcony which just seems unfair imo

I’m no expect, but I think one of the factors is how easy it is to escape.
For instance in a emergency it would be much more difficult to escape from the balcony than from anywhere else in the ground

Do you know where I can find it. Not having a go, just curious on the decisions. I agree on parking but seems we miss a lot of sales with the stewarding situation and now the balcony?

Agreed, life changes for people. I actually think I went more in our League 2 & 1 days but that was just because I had the time to travel up. It was grindingly depressing at times mind! Would love to go more now but can't make it work as much as I'd like. The football and atmosphere at the club is way better you can see why more people are making the effort.

Shmmeee, have you ever been in the Premier Lounge?

It has two big bars enough to accommodate everybody.

Interestingly Boro have only been given 2815. Compared to just over 3000 others have.
