No point beating round the bush.. Can you see us beating Ipswich, Bristol, forest, millwall? I personally can't at the moment..

We are not screwed yet!! Forest and Ipswich are in free-fall.

Pompey are on the brink.

I know that it doesn't seem likely at the moment, but 2 wins for us and we are by no means sunk.

The same Ipswich team that hammered us 3-0. The only way will stay in this league is if Thorn goes.

You are of course correct that we have only managed to 2 victories. That is the harsh reality, but i am convinced that we should have had more wins and certainly more points.

We have been unfortunate in the last few games.

Some of that was due to poor play, but far more to bad luck.

We are due better fortune.

46 years of true unconditional support towards something that has been and still is close to my heart qualifies me more than many to be more optimistic than you.

Keep believing.

Could've, Would've, Should've.

We are currently where we deserve to be in the table. No team has 'bad luck' for 18 games.

We can still get out of this mess but realistically we need to win half our remaining games.

Don't see this bad luck thing. Against West Ham is the one time I've truly felt we were actually unlucky.

I think we make our own look to be honest Otis but feel we always seem to get the bad rub of the green, the shit refs, the wrong decisions, the back passes that go wrong for me its part of being a Coventry fan. Thats how this stuff makes me feel.

I know we play poor as well from time to time but it's like the players and the backroom staff share my thoughts now before they get on the pitch. We are sometimes defeated before we get on the pitch IMO.

Its like we bring a knife to a gunfight and bearly make it out alive.

Yes, this is what i meant, mind you i can never remember us getting much luck!!

However, Brighton's 1st goal was A, poor play by Clingan and B, very unlucky to have been steered in the direction of Keoghs shin into the goal.

These things seem to happen more frequently to teams who are struggling.

Regardless, it is very difficult to remain positive about our club at present, but despite the wrist slitting, positive, i shall remain.

Bit of hypothetical maths here:

Assume 42 points is safety we therefore need to obtain 29 points from the remaining 27 games which in this approximate permutation could be W7-D8-L12 = 26% win ratio.

So we have to uplift our current win ratio of 11% by a significant margin to achieve 42 points.

Bearing in mind just 2 wins in 19 so far can anybody see us with 7 wins out of the next 27 games ??? - it does look a tad doable to me with my CCFC glasses on.

2 wins will mean.............we're one point away from safety but still in the relegation zone

I cannot see where the wins are coming from. We usually do well against the better teams in the league, but even this year we're struggling to do that!

That figure is indeed achievable, however, 42 points will never be enough to survive. An absolute minimum of 50 points will be required.

I honestly admire your optimism.

I wish that more of our fans could be as positive!!

I still think we're down. But remember the 10 game winless streaks of the past two seasons and how we all thought we'd never see a win again. Things can change quickly in this game.

Again not saying they will, but they can.

I accept that but, you can only win 1 game and gain 3 points at a time.

If, miraculously, we could manage 2 straight wins, we could, potentially, as you say be 1 point from safety, instead of 7.

Despite all the gloom and despondancy, we are not relegated yet.

6 Generations,

You are absolutely right - from a previous thread of mine I actually checked the last 10 seasons and the safety factor was actually 51 points !!! ........silly me

The task looks like this now:

W10-D8-L9 = win ratio of 37%

Even I struggle to see where those results are going to come from

Donny could have stayed up with 43 points last season, in the end they got 48.

in imminent danger of the dreaded drop,
only due to dire management of our team,
sisu have treated us like peasant's slop,
no resources, no trust, or so it seems,

an example of of persons who assume to know,
how to run a business in a prudent way,
but events so quickly come to show,
they are not fit, on any day,

your time is up, what shall we call you now,
you've shown us absolute nothing,
to speculate would have shown you how,
to at least give the hope of something,

few hopes, few points, it's a sky blue drought,
we have hope, faith, and belief alone,
but we need to shout SISU OUT,
and give us back our home !!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy Thorn has to go. He's probably a good bloke and he's more than likely doing his best but results say he is not up to the job. I know SISU are the real villains and it's important to get them out - but in the interim we need a manager who can actually win games and put some points on the board. At this rate, we're definitely doomed to visits to Crawley Town next season....PUSB
