Got into a conversation today re how many city players (including ex, current and pre signed) have scored at Wembley. We came up with 10 in a couple of minutes but there must be more.
Anyone want to try a list?

Charlie George
Haven't checked, but taking into account internationals, Gerry Francis must have scored there
Terry Butcher?
Stuart Pearce
Kenny Sansom (?)
Daniel Sturridge

I reckon the list will end up being over 30. comfortably.

If we are looking at international games too there will be quite a few I’d think. Gerry Francis is a definite one.

Phil Neal (penalties!)
Would have thought that one or more of Robbie Keane, Strachan and McAllister (missed that pen!) have scored there.

Does Martin Hayes count, we had him on loan although he never played?

We threw a lot of those names around without checking. There is a player that hasn’t been mentioned yet that went on to Manage us.
It would be great to see an “official confirmed” list by the end of the thread

You got it. That was how the whole conversation started. He scored in the league cup final for Swindon against Arsenal.
Tommy Hutchison scored for both teams in his game

We've scored some really spectacular goals at Wembley come to think of it.

Houch (obviously an all time classic and one of the greatest FA Cup goals), Thomas (what a strike), Willis (similar).

My all time favourite is actually Grimmer's beauty. Went absolutely mental.

Shortly followed by Shipley's strong effort (albeit deflected), sealed the game after an amazing 30 minutes for us - and the fact that it was scored by a young Cov lad in front of our support - it was perfect.

There can’t be a ton of Wembley scorers. Just by the law of averages a lower league player can count themselves fortunate if they play there more than once.
