In 1987 we were on THAT train which broke down due to idiot throwing something up onto the over head cables and we only just made it to Wembley with one minute to spare. So this time we are going to make a weekend of it and go down by train Saturday morning stay the weekend in a hotel and come back Monday morning. Wembley here we come.

4:30 kickoff?

That means I can get the train there and have a few jars but can't get the train home.

Why does it have to be so difficult to get to a game of football?

Northern line tube from Tooting Bec to Moorgate. Moorgate to Wembley Park on the Metropolitan line.

Aim to get to Wembley 90-120 minutes before kick off. Any later than that and the tube will be too packed to get on.

Chiltern Line
Warwick, Leamington Banbury etc

April 2nd
There is also a sporting event at Wembley Stadium – Checkatrade Trophy Final. An amended timetable will operate for most of the day, with many services calling additionally at Wembley Stadium.

8.51? Wow, that is early.

Though in saying that, in 87 I was standing outside Wembley stadium at 10 am waiting for the gates to open.

We're on that one - Coach C
Got to make it a full day, it's 30 years since I was last at Wembley.
On which basis, I'll be a whisp of smoke above Canley Crem, by the time we next do it.

South west train from Surbiton to Clapham junction, overground from there to Willesden Junction and then bakerloo from there to Wembley Central! Seems a bit of a faff, but only about 40 minutes from south west to north west London!
