if you look at the table we are still in the running but the games in hand are killing us at the moment. We cannot rely on away form to get us to the playoffs, we need to get goals and points at home which we are just not consistent at presently.

I don't see there's been a honeymoon period as such.
We didn't immediately start winning as soon as MR took over.
It's been a gradual turn of events, leading to us winning regularly.
Our home form has been patchy all season.
I don't think losing one league game after all the great results of late is any kind of crisis.

Agreed, it would be naive to think that there was any significant change in our performances. I think Thorn would have screwed things up for us but Robbins has steadied the ship. The next stage is to kick on.

In my opinion there was no honeymoon, just expectation that things needed to improve. Robins is task orientated and realises that there is a long way to go. Robins has never sold us anything different, he has never over promised and the fans recognise we are work in progress (Surely). Teams hit peaks during the season, we are at another trough at the moment. Albeit that Robins has set a high standard of late.

Deano, your observations are uncannily accurate. Well spotted. 1962/63. Yes sounds about right to me. And the pitch now is beginning to look like that mudbath all those years ago. It didn't help us then or now. Bly & Hudson, McGoldrick & Clarke. Though Hud started scoring rightaway. Think it spoiled our rhythm for a while. Gary McSheffrey certainly no Ronnie Rees in goals terms. Carl Baker doing his bit in that respect.
Still think promotion is possible. Need a couple of loans to make a difference.
