This is guaranteed in a Russell Slade team, used them at all his previous clubs. He's even used a few of the same players at each of his clubs. Alex Revel was a favourite of his previously.

Good appointment. Experienced at this level which we needed. Shame SISU are still here though, so a mixture of hope and despair !

Personally (and again nothing to do with my overall opinion of Agyei), I just think Thomas's movement and link up play and the way he drops into the hole would bring more to the team. Hes also our player and I would rather develop him ahead of wright and Agyei, unless we brought someone in like Armstrong or Samuel who were a class above.

Thomas missed one or two chances early on (that was only 2-3 games though), but I wouldn't say i've seen anything in Agyei is a better finisher - again nothing to do with my general feelings on his ability but he just hasn't produced, his best goal was against Northampton, the Bradford and sheff united took deflections and the Southend or Rochdale were unmisable chances.

I just think Thomas would bring more to the team than Agyei, who for me would be a far better impact sub, when players are tired.

That said we really need better than both of them if we're going to pull ourselves out of it.

I agree thomas offers more in terms of movement and also pressing. Either could work.

Maybe mcbean as targetman and sordell as a poacher?

Looking forward to next few games at least though

Football management must be the only career when you can be sacked as incompetent one month and hired as a great saviour the next month!

He's already lost his hair so he should be fine for us, no more to tear out.

It may prove to be a good appointment, knows the lower leagues, has an eye for a signing. I just hope the owners back him

McBean and Sordell linked up well against Crawley!

Hopefully he will get his 11 and stick with it rather than fucking about every week.

I don't give a fuck about football other than England games, Cov games and fantasy premier league. I don't even know who's in our league.

Well, I wish Mr Slade good luck. But not getting my hopes up. SISU, Seppala, Fisher and Venus hardly offer light at the end of the tunnel.

Very Very Happy with this appointment ....4-4-2 with Tudguy and Sordell up front banging in the goals fed by two wingers.
Think this is as good as we could have hoped for managerial appointment wise and very streetwise in these leagues too!

Slade must be desperate for a job to take this basket case of a club on even for just 6 months.

I wish the guy all the luck in the world as he will need it. I imagine in early January when the promises start to get broken will he then realise what he has taken on .

When Venus leaves in January it'll be slade reporting directly into fisher. That'll be interesting.

Maybe he sees it as a chance to upturn his reputation. Do well and other clubs may want him come the end of the season/ or a miracle happens and we get new investment and they like him and keep him on* or do badly no harm done as the club are a mess and he can use that excuse.

*Yes I know it is unlikely, but I live in hope.

I'm more optimistic about it because I think he has the know how to get us out of the relegation zone. But as its been said before, nothing will change at the club until SISU go.

I'm really happy with this appointment, have been calling for a L1 manager since TM left. Knows the division and knows players who will work in this division. Glad he has been brought in before Xmas gives him a bit of time to assess the squad and see who he likes/doesn't like and can make early moves in January (budget willing) to bring in the players he thinks will help the team

I suppose we could have done worse. We could have got someone called "Potter". Then we could do the Wizzard song. Geddit? Potter? Wizzard? Christmastime? Ah well, suit yourselves!
