Really pleased with my progress lately. I've made a lifestyle change as well as a dietary change and it's been a steady loss since January. When I look really short term it appears I've stalled but looking at the monthly progress I'm still trending the right way.

See my post above, it can feel like you've stalled but you will still be making progress.

Yeah. Read the paper I shared earlier. Long term very few weight management interventions of any sort stick. After a few years three quarters have put the weight back on.

That doesn’t mean don’t do it. But recognise if you manage to lose and keep weight off you’re very much in the minority. It’s why i wouldn’t be harsh on people trying whatever works for them and insisting on the “correct way”. You might be slightly less likely to rebound on a balanced diet, but chances are still high that you will rebound. Give people all the tools possible against what’s a very difficult problem to beat IMO.

I'm now 8lbs down since the start of Feb. It's a nice continuous decrease with a lifestyle change and not a diet. I'm still eating toffee yum yums from Lidl and whatever junk comes my way at the weekends. Really happy, feeling stronger and loving getting a sweat on at Revs a couple of times a week.

Dual purpose to this post but Pathways Coventry is a group for men who might be struggling with their mental health, had a traumatic event or just need people to talk to and is linked in with walks, exercise etc.

Apologies, I didn’t see that you needed to log in when I pasted the links.

Just grabbed the Modem out the attic and fired up the dial up and although there was nothing on MySpace or Bebo I did find something on Facebook

In all seriousness for anyone who has thought about reaching out to something like this, then this is a the perfect opportunity.

I have black edition for lunch every day.

Try and put the water in first then add the huel so it doesn't all clump at the bottom.

Shake fuck out of it.

Chocolate is my favourite flavour.

No idea what the daily greens are like, would be interested in your thoughts.

I've got Banana / Strawberrys and cream Black Edition.

I do have it but I can't get full of just that, sometimes I just put in peanut butter etc in the Nutribullet and hammer it for a bit.

I have tried other daily greens but cant comment on the huel ones. Very earthy!!

Just ordered some more Black Edition and a couple of the meal bags with pasta in, haven't tried those yet.

Decent offer as well, donate a fiver to the Hardest Geeza and save 20% so still saving a bit.

Shamelessly, my Huel signup link - Get £10 off

Closing in on 6 stone lost now and just spent today playing my first 40 over game of the year. Batting for around 25 overs, sprinting around the field and so on.

Felt great and liberating to be able to play the game without feeling exhausted after one run.

My weight loss has slowed from almost 2.4 lbs a week to about 1-1.5 though. Cutting calories further seems unwise so what else should I be looking at?

Opposition put on a great spread, cakes, sandwiches etc. Felt after hours in the middle I’d earned a slice or two!

Without knowing specifics, probably not a lot. As your body loses mass you will have a lower metabolic rate. 1.5lbs per week is not to be sniffed at, still. Are you weight training and consuming enough protein from a variety of sources?

All you can do is make smaller tweaks to your diet....... since xmas i've cut out cheese completely..... and in last couple of months i've cut out my supper fridge-raid for a huge bowl of greek yoghurt with fruit&fibre. Seems to have given me the extra kg or two loss i've been looking for.

Also can increase cardio work, but if you're solely looking at weight-loss then diet is the major factor.

You've obviously made wholesale changes (very well done btw) and things will inevitably slow down.....
Going back a decade or so, i went from 102kg down to 90kg in about 3 months. Then it took around another year to get down to 82-84kg. Then to get to "fighting weight" (78kg) was probably another year at least.

Getting enough protein I think so, but not trained mostly from not knowing where to start with that.

If you can afford it, I’d look at investing in a weekly session with a personal trainer and then work out by yourself alongside that a few times a week.

Putting some muscle mass on will definitely help. If you can get a barbell and some weights you can start something like StrongLifts 5x5, you’d need a bench and eventually a squat rack but for the first couple of months you should be fine as you start with an empty bar and add 2.5kg each session to get your form right, so it’s good for adding to your “gym” slowly over time.

Depends on your lifestyle. I don’t have a car to myself and have kids to look after so easier to get to the end of the garden than a gym. Also I live in Bedworth and all the gyms look like a handlebar moustache or a steroid addiction are entry requirements.
