What went wrong with them? I've had one for 3 months.

The band disintegrated on my Charge HR twice. Another Charge HR just stopped synching to the extent that Fitbit sent another one. My Blaze HR monitor doesn't work (although admittedly that's probably my fault as I thought it was OK for swimming, it isn't) and they sent a Surge as a replacement and that has fallen apart.

In fairness their after sales support is good, so contrary to my earlier post, probably worth getting as they invariably will replace faulty items without any hassle.

I've bought a couple of knockoff bands from Amazon so switch them once a week. Only thing I don't like about it so far is the charging device.

I personally wouldn't fast, no need to punish yourself for a blip, just get back to eating healthy, and learn from it.

Yeah I have never tried to swim in mine and take it off in the shower. Took it apart to change the battery and it still works after i put it back together.

I am not sure i bought the wrong battery but it lasts maybe 1-2 days but takes 10 minutes to charge rather than hours. It's a bit annoying.

Kieran, as you say in a previous post, it's your body...

But seriously... knocking off 15 beers is one thing, but following it up with fasting for 48hrs seriously isn't a healthy way to lose weight.... Fasting for 48 hrs isn't a good idea under any circumstances really...

I admire your willpower to do that, but if you find fasting an effective method, then look up "intermittent fasting" which is effectively fasting for 16hrs each day (approx 8? of which you're asleep), then getting your calorie intake in the remaining 8hrs.

A really effective way of doing it, and much much better for you.... Not to mention sustainable for as long as you like (I've maintained a somewhat more relaxed version of this for over 8 years now).

Not punishing myself just have a goal I'm willing to hit by sacrificing food for a few days, I use to do fast daily due to lack of money I reckon I could got a good 30 days without food if I'm honest and have a load of water in

Jase at the Gravity Academy is giving free trial lesson at the moment I saw he put on his social media.

I know you mentioned there before so might be the right time to give it a try?

Start with a pike press as practice and that helps build up the strength

I can do them, but need someone to hold my legs steady (this seems easier than trying to balance against a wall, as quite naturally you feel like you're going to topple over).

Yeah but you are a freak of nature and run about 1000 miles without sweating. You don't count

There's a guy who fasted for over a year lost like 300lbs, people think we had food at the ready back years ago when it would take a month to hunt down a mamouth. Each tot here own though as long as they don't tell me what to do, I'm comfortable doing it if I wasn't I wouldn't do it.

My first time back in the gym on Monday was great. After a zillion years in lockdown and a weekend away in Cornwall it was much needed. (how nice is Cornish Rattler cider by the way!?) Going to go again straight after work again today

I started back at the gym last week, been 3 times so far and fucking hell it hurts. It is horrible when you have to start again with weights when you think about the ones being thrown about a few months ago.

Yeah that bit is depressing.

The aches after are a good feeling though. Can't beat a gym shower either.

I got down to 12.4 stone a little while ago and decided to calm it down on the weight loss and try to put a bit of muscle on, nothing drastic, so I've been hammering it most days in the gym on the weights which was hell at first, reduced cardio a bit, changed diet around and just under a week ago I bought some different whey protein powder (was using soy protein), plus some 'muscle mass' stuff- the guy that owns the gym strongly recommended it, not a well known brand, a local supplier & full of 'good stuff' so he said. Bearing in mind my age I thought it would be hard to gain a few pounds of muscle, but its bloody ridiculous- I'm up literally over half a stone in less than a fortnight, and none of it is fat- body fat % currently slightly down to 14.3%, so it must be all lean stuff.

And I absolutely hate it- I feel sluggish, clammy, slow, heavy, feel less flexible and much more tired- its just horrible. Much stronger alright, and I'm lifting pretty heavy (for me), but I just don't like the whole 'bulk' approach, it ain't for me at all- so back to "skinny" it is . Also I find the endorphin release after cardio much better than the 'gratifying soreness' you get after a big weights session, everyone is different I guess.

One thing I have learned very clearly- there are some supplements out there that are like fucking rocket fuel, this stuff is mental, you can see yourself gaining size almost overnight.

I tried some of the "mass" stuff back in the day and although it did help with weights etc it also put a bit of mass on my gut.
