Don’t think they are. Zero traffic and the car parks practically empty. Where the fuck is everyone?

Yeah, correct, but why are we bumping these threads after such a fabulous win yesterday and the excitement of the playoffs beckoning?

FL has done a brilliant job and proved all us doubters wrong.

I think we can all reflect on the season after it's all done and dusted, but now should all be about positivity, surely, shouldn't it?

Probably time to accept that King has been a real good thing for the club too, so far at least. Night and day with SISU but honestly he's just generally a decent owner.

Yeah. I didn't like him throwing Robins under the bus at that meeting, but otherwise, it's hard to complain too much about him, is it

Any fans of any club in the world would have huge PTSD after that catastrophic shitshow of ownership but Doug King is the very best we could have had after it. He genuinely seems to care - Lampard has just praised him highly for being hands-on in his post match press conference - and he has made mistakes but learnt from them and he made the absolute right call against the emotions and rightful idolisation of Mark Robins.

Even if things turned around massively for Robins we wouldn't have finished better than 5th
Even if we hadn't a few hiccups in recent weeks, we wouldn't have finished better than 5th.

Was realistically as good as it could get and an incredible achievment

I don’t think he really threw him under the bus, he was defending himself after rumours had suddenly become fact.

Yeh I think it had spiraled a bit and needed addressing, it was a bit of a circus but on balance it's probably a good thing it happened. As entertaining as I found it, let's hope we never see another one.

Noticed that lampard mentions and praises Robins a lot during interviews and it's nice to see.

The way that Lampard himself has conducted himself around this has been exemplary - though ofc winning matches helps.

Well in fairness

Much of what is here is down to mark robins , alot of what we are today is down to mark robins .

Frank is a good man and has taken over a good club with good players and is trying to carry us on forward after a small blip , hopefully he can carry us into the premier league

You can’t just put it down to Lampard (as we didn’t with Robins) .

Jones and Edward’s have arguably have had as much an impact as Lampard has (same with Lawrence & Aidy).

Credit FL for bringing them in and also to King for paying for it.

People bump these threads because they have to go through months of bed wetting every year and people never learn. If everyone could regulate their expectations a bit not thinking we are going down after every loss or champions after every win it would be helpful...

Mark and Adi did it over several seasons.

Lampard has done everything that could possibly of been asked of him, we literally could not of expected any more.
If you'd of told me we'd finish 5th when he came in, I'd of laughed at you, so fair play to the guy, he's been amazing.

But you can't take anything away from MR, he dragged us out of the gutter, got us back to the top 6 of the championship, gave us silverware and gave us something to be proud of, and I'll always love him for that.

I think if you put on the biggest Mark Robins' hat, he could have turned it around like he always did, and got us to finish 5th.

I don't think he would have got the consistency against mediocre teams to get the 9 wins out of 10 that Lampard got. But he also wouldn't have had the poor 5/6 games Lampard did at the start, and he might have pulled off a couple of big results against better teams that Lampard didn't get.

Who knows!

But we know Robins has precedent for turning things round exactly the same as we have this season, and there's theories he may have not been given the chance to reshuffle the coaching setup after it clearly went wrong over the summer... But we'll probably never know the full story behind that.

I think the biggest material difference between the two is Lampard is more consistent at beating the dross to get those 10 wins in 12, Robins biggest weakness was beating shite teams. Robins biggest strength was getting us to punch up against better teams and get results (Wolves away, Leicester, Leeds, Middlesbrough away, United at Wembley, even Spurs at home we played amazing). Lampard hasn't (yet) beaten a considerably better team than us... We haven't had a big enough sample size yet, but I would feel more confident coming up against Sheffield United at Wembley and getting a big result under Robins than Lampard, but Lampard has maybe produced the consistency to get us there....

I backed King sacking Robins because we can't keep having such poor starts to the season taking far too long to Gel. I do think Robins could have got us in to a similar position by the end of the season but I do think the start of the season is where Lampard should be judged, is that better than Robins, do we hit the ground running.

Robins wouldn't have got us 5th ffs. He'd already lost at home to Norwich, Swansea, Wednesday and Derby, had frozen out Kitching while we had to put up with regular appearances from Binks and Lati and he'd resorted to playing Rudoni, who is possibly our biggest asset right now, at LWB. He'd completely lost it.
He did a great job for us but all good things come to an end. King was bang on to fire him and it seems thus far he was pretty bang on hiring his replacement too.

Robins did an exceptional job while he was with us and deserves a lot of plaudits for turning us into a decent Championship team. The posts above though about Robins matching Lampard this season though and getting us to finish 5th are just deluded. He has a win percentage of over 50% with us ffs.

Some people cannot bring themselves to credit Lampard with anything so it's just easier to say "Robins would have done the same."
