6 points in 6 games.

25 points by Christmas yeah?

More XG than the opposition, same as before. They will put this 'bad luck' on Lampard and he's been unfortunate. Players need to stand up and stop being weak as piss.

The players aren’t good enough but it was clear as day that Robins wasn’t going to turn it around.

Give him a transfer window at least, he's still getting to know the squad, and he's without Wright who makes a big difference.

His use of subs is better than MR, and he's dropped Dasilva which is a bonus.

Not writing Lampard off and here's here so he'll have my full support. But I don't see Lampard getting any more out of this group of players than Robins would.

I think you should be careful about labelling anyone as “dropped”.
He stated he’d be rotating people as he gets to know the squad more.
I hope you’re right but i think we’ll still see da silva again

It's fairly simple, we have shit centre backs Joel. Bobby, Luis and Liam aren't good enough, 2 goals in 7 of the last 8 games.

We need a new left back, while I would keep Bidwell I wouldn't be playing him, perfect back up.

Lastly we need a player that can be the spark between middle and attack, aka a proper number 10.

Joel, binks, liam and Bobby are simply not good enough, if you want to finish around 16th in the table then yes keep these 4

Rudoni isn't good enough, compare his work and creativity to O'hare and it is telling.

Dasilva isn't at the standard, if you want him to play you play him as a winger and you then have yourself a poor winger.

Unfortunately when having a squad overhaul you're just not gonna get everything right.
Dasilva, Joel, Liam, Bobby, Luis, Rudoni, BTA unfortunately are examples of getting it wrong.

Mve, Sakamoto, Wright. Mason Clarke, Torp and Simms have all come in and settled down and done well, when given a chance.

If your central defence is terrible you're going to struggle, if your number 10 can't link the play you will waste chance after chance, regardless of xg.

Luckily for us tho, we are 3 or 4 players away from the jigsaw being complete, however this will all depend on Doug King now. If he passes around, we will lose Sheaf, Wright and Mve, and then it's back to the very beginning.

We have wasted so much money, one name in particular is BTA, £2 million on a player that honestly for me, looks so out of his depth in this division, he has no ball control, his first touch is dreadful and he just looks like a league 1 player. Serious questions must be asked of our head of recruitment Austin.

It's happened and Lampard needs time to imprint something on them. The squad is nowhere near ready for anything higher than mid table. The defence is league one standard and our forwards are fighting a losing battle.

However, why does Lampard get the time to fix the mess created by recruitment and not Robins? The excitement of a fresh new face will fade, and in time it will be clear what a very harsh and probably incorrect decision it was to sack Mark Robins. Fans rightly trusted Robins to eventually get it right based off a long track record of doing so, this is an enormous job for Frank if Doug expects play offs next season

While I don't necessarily agree with the OP, the performances/results so far under CCFL have been little different to those under MR.

So while I'm hoping Frank does a good job and will support him, it does suggest the problem wasn't the manager.

we’d have lost all 3 under Robins, or won all 3 maybe draws, what a pointless question.
This is Robin’s squad fact.

I dunno, we were averaging 1.75 points per game in Robins last 4 games, around the same time he always starts to turn it around.

The last 3 games were typical Robins in his tenure. Get points when not expected then throw in an absolute stinker

You probably said the same when he was in exactly the same position the previous two seasons. We looked hopeless both seasons at the start and then he found a way.
We won 2 of the last 3 before he was sacked.

I firmly believe we would’ve stood a better chance with him than anyone else on the list of potential replacements.

But it’s done now, we have to move forward (sadly)

I really didn’t say the same.

With all the off field stuff, coaching changes etc, it just felt different this time around.

Respect your opinion though.

I see Lampard at least trying to get this group doing the right things. The problem is I have no faith in too many of these players.

January we need to move on some piss takers and replace them with consistent performers

Yeah exactly, like the Yeovil 2-6 at home the year we won the playoffs, or the Rotherham 4-0 the year we won the league, or the Luton 6-0 the week before we beat Fulham 4-1.

Would have been typical City under Robins to go up to Sunderland 3 days after the Derby debacle and get the win.

But nah, ignore history, sack him instead.

That's the thing with Lampard, I think he'll get more wins than Robins against the poor teams, but lack the tactical nous to beat the better teams, which was Robins biggest strength - other than the first half Vs Luton in the playoff final, we always turned up in big games under Robins.

If you look at Lampard's first, fairly successful season at Chelsea, they finished 4th after he inherited the team that finished 3rd the previous season. He only won something like 1 game against the top 6.
