Clearly (watching on the box) we splayed the ball around at times and came at them time and again. The stats will show we dominated, though that's shows how silly that is.
Stevenage are a tough well organised unit and took their chances....simple as that.

The difference here is the management. he picks the team and today (though we had much of the ball) the wrong players were on the pitch.

Barton is rubbish, lazy and not commited. Jennings at times does his job but goes missing for much of the game. Elliott not good enough or not fit enough. We can't find a place for McSheffrey the last 20 minutes?

Hussey off who was one of the few providing width and crosses today! Wrong subs and simply not galvanising the players belief.

Seems most of AT's signings are not very good tbh.

There are players in our squad we need back. Thomas came on yes but the Bells etc are needed. Central midfield looks weak even with Kilbane and even with most of the ball retention but we need a player to place the ball through the channels for Cody and McGoldrick to get onto.

We also need height in this league on what I've seen so far. We sold the tree and I'm wondering if that was a mistake?

teams come here and know it's the best stadium they will see all season and they will play at their best. Even so we still should be capable of beating the likes of these sides. The players were seen to be dejected at the result yet again at the end and they know themselves they are looking for direction.

Do we still really believe people are raising their game because of a 2/3 empty clone ground ?

If I was newly promoted to league one, I imagine Bramall Lane would be more exciting than the Ricoh.

Barton and Elliot are two of our best players.

The problem with our team isn't the players - it's the tactics. Look at how Stevenage scored their first - pace on the break exposing gaps.

Our build up play is incredibly slow and predictable. We always work it to the fullback who cross to strikers who can't win their headers - what's the point?!

Such a slow build up means they het everyone back behind the ball in comfortable positions and makes it easy to defend.

We had the better players - but bad tactics. The diamond doesn't offer much protection either.

We need a Manager with new ideas who will only play people who give 100%

That probably rules Barton out then I would have thought.
