Yup. It truly was. Become a bit of an urban myth.

Fans were always complaining just as to how soulless HR was and how it lacked atmosphere.

I think everyone would love a tight city centre ground, but I’d also love a handjob off Emma Stone. Fact is if I want a handjob I’ll have to take the half hearted one off the missus or none at all.

I'll have you know, Emma has quite rough hands and no sense of rhythm.

She likes to have ‘Blue Monday’ on in the background. So there’s something to synchronise a rhythm.

in the case of HR absence has made the heart grow fonder. In the case of the Ricoh absence has hammered home what a complete soulless shit hole it is, albeit one we desperately need to be playing in.

I fucking loved HR, the location and the boozers around it.

I won’t hear a word against it.

People that also say 'sign a long term deal to play in Birmingham' like that guy that texts the phone in every week on Saturday, need a good look at themselves....embarrassing

I don't mind the Ricoh and think it gets a lot of shit based purely on a) it's not HR and b) the decline we've been on since we arrived there (bad memories associated with the place).
In a different time line ad "Operation Premiership" been a success I reckon the place would be loved.

If we move back they need to jig the train timetable around to accommodate football fans though.

same, though as you're a Scotsman and I'm Scottish descent I do wonder if the abundance of pubs may be the dominant factor?

As do those who are calling for us to go back at any cost without any consideration of the long-term consequences.

Tues night was one of my most depressing football experiences ever.

At one point in the first half, max went for an overhead kick and missed it. About 30 people laughed. It was as clear as day and no doubt at all that the players heard it.

The fans could have all fitted on an A380 it was that low. I saw one person under 16.

Our lowest ever attendance in the history of our club and it got (and continues to get) very little coverage

We need to be in Coventry.

We wouldn’t have got more than 1,000 at the Ricoh for that game. The competition is a waste of time. It’s a reserve game in effect.

I used to live near the vauxhall tavern and would meet my dad in the brewer & baker or spittlemoor but it was before my time drinking so never got the full experience.

I must be in the minority, but I liked the ricoh. Easy to get to, casino before the game, easy to get out of, on the m6 within mins of the final whistle.

went off it the second the wasps branding started to appear

Yes it's great if you're a sort of drive to ground, watch match, drive home bore.

It's pretty depressing if you want to make a day of it

remember when the Spittlemoor got the late bar, there was more than one occasion when I rolled out of there on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning at 4 in the morning after a reserve or FA cup youth game.
Brewer was a great pub as well. Few of us used to get changed at work and head straight down there for about 4.15 for mid week games, had some cracking pre match sessions.

It’s the precarious position we find ourselves in now, after all that’s gone on. We can’t continue out of Coventry, we can’t continue, as you say, playing second fiddle to Wasps. As SkyBlueDom says, something has to give. Like I said, we’re well up shit creek and continue to head deeper in to it.

not sure I agree with that either. I would normally have a couple of beers in town, share an uber (so about a £3 cost each to Casino to watch the early prem game, watch ccfc, back to casino for late prem game then uber back into town for some beers.

they used to be a great club with great support and Highbury was a great place to watch football.
