Disappointing. I haven’t checked but is that the first half we have lost this season?

Thought the second half was garbage. All things considered, 3-0 up and a 11 v 10 men, the game was effectively over.

Looking at Watford’s xG v ours paints the picture that we were v lucky. 3-1 was not a fair reflection of how the game actually went.

Take the 3 points and learn from the game moving into the final week before the international break.

Emc looked like he was just going to cross for everyone else when he had I excellent chance to go for it but crossed 4Haji I think, then he finally went for it and it was a fair effort really.

Got a bit worried a bit even though Watford had 10 men in the 2nd half they were playing well till the end.

Are we forgetting they could have comfortably had 2 possibly 3 goals in the first half?

We were fortunate today.
3 points and move on. Frank isn’t stupid He will know we need to improve in midfield.

By some of the usual drivel posters on here you'd have thought we lost the game .

I thought we went for the wear them out routine like against Birmingham.
Thing is Watford are beasts with pace and muscle and are a different proposition under their new manager. A lot of teams would have capitulated, but they stepped up. I wouldn't mind a couple of their players if we got promoted.

Yeah but that's the nature of the tactics I think is it not?

By the same token we could've easily had another 2-3 goals

Could and maybe should have been 5-2 at half time

We over performed our xG and Watford underperformed theirs. Both teams created 3 ‘big chances’ and both teams scored 1 albeit one of those high xG chances was the penalty, which from my angle looked like a good save from Rushworth.

The game defining moment was Watford missing that early 1v1 and we take it back to go 1-0 up. Under Lampard, our record when we take the leads is fantastic, less convincing when we go 1-0 down.
