Just saw this. I think Robins’ real strength is the quality of characters he gets in the door. Fair play Michael Rose

Like hyam will only remember him fondly

After cup wins and double promotion we have a lot of players who contributed along the joufney who we can look back on as heroes.

Personally think he's unlucky to have been let go, as there were times earlier last season when I thought he looked a useful squad player in this league, and we are now in the market for several CBs.

Yeah I’ve always been a Rose fan TBH. He struggled post injury but when he’s good he’s easily Championship quality. If it’s true he’s going to Stoke I’ll be interested to see how he gets on with regular game time.

It’s certainly looked for a while like he was off.

Another player who has played his part on our upward trajectory and deserves to be well remembered for that.

Don’t think he was “let go” as such. He was offered a new contract but decided not to sign it primarily because he wants to play week in week out. I can understand where he’s coming from given his age but he was never going to be guaranteed ad a starter.

Whoever gets him will get a good solid pro.
I wouldn't of minded keeping him, but he needs regular game time.
I wish him well, and thanks for playing such a big part in our journey.

Always has a mistake in him for me and he’s old enough not to be making them now

If he was happy to be first reserve then id definitely have kept him but understand why he wouldn’t want to be that.

We must be fairly confident of getting decent replacements for Panzo and Doyle if we couldn’t promise him regular footy next season.

There is a suggestion he’d been offered better wages elsewhere anyway than the contract offered here

Yeah fair. Can’t blame him for going.

We obviously didn’t try too hard to keep him bearing in mind we’ve lost a lot of CB’s (obviously McNally too, who I’d forgotten above). I did wonder if he’d be moved back up to a starter next season out of necessity, so it’s positive they think we can get the body’s in we need (let’s hope!)

Wouldn't be surprised. We'd have been offering as a squad player presumably. Some of the teams coming up have decent resources.

If he could stay fit for a season there's a quality player in there.

A player’s personality is clearly a big factor in who Robins signs.

His signings have always been decent, likeable guys.

Pre Robins I remember plenty of players who come across as absolute arseholes

Yep. A lot to be made of scouting someone's personality as much as their footballing ability.

Maatsen called us a small club. plus was a loan and let’s be honest never really adhered himself to the club or fans.

Rose was part of best years in recent times and will not get booed

I was thinking Bright. By all accounts fitted the likable criteria mind you!

kane was a strange one. not well liked at qpr, think his signing was through sheer desperation

Maatsen said Burnley were a big club, I don't recall anywhere he said we were a small club?

his exact words were ‘'My first loan was with Charlton, and then with Coventry, so now I’m stepping up to a bigger club and in a big league'

Hopefully Dabo gets a good reception as well if he remains a Championship player

Ex Chelsea though.

Have to say, if you were a player of a certain level who'd played for Chelsea during that period and we *weren't* interested in signing them, then you'd think you must have run over Viveash's cat or something.

He looked good at times when he first signed. Great delivery, technique. Positionally he was all over the place. We conceded a lot of goals at the tail end of the 21/22 season from Kane playing opposition players onside, or not tracking. Reminded me a little of Grimmer.

Kane did not feel like a typical Robins signing and I think as someone else said we were just desperate.

Dare I say Kane did pretty well for a while. There was a stage where he was a better player than Dabo by some distance.

Looks like his attitude let him down again.
