Yup, it's been a fabulous change of fortunes.

Our defence still really worries me though.

Will just need Wright to make sure he helps us score more than the opposition each week, so the awful goals we concede, won't matter

We've conceded 4 goals in 7 league games and 2 of those were against Leeds.
Not bad going atcyhe back.

We do look like an accident waiting to happen at times though.

Like today, Sheff Weds scored one, but really should have had several more.

Blackburn are always good value for the top six in every month bar one... just a shame for them that month is always May!

I’ve had a few - but doesn’t the amount of “lucky” games seen similar to 22/23?

The difference I have noticed is when our opponents attack we spend more time running back to pack out the penalty area than trying to stop them getting to the area. Not good on the old ticker but it's working.

Watch it next game. We let them come forward when they attack and leave no space in the area.

Absolutely this. I'll put my hands up as one of those berks who thought it was virtually season over before Xmas, we'll most likely stay up but it'll be months of nicking points here and there with the last month or so meh nothing to play for. Leeds asside, the recent run of league wins is nothing short of brilliant and hats off to Lampard, his staff and obviously the players for turning this season on its head and giving us some hope again. While the defence has improved, a fair bit down to Dovin, I do wish we'd perhaps brought in some resilliance there as it's often on a knife edge. We can score goals but it's like worrying about my roof when it rains.

Said on another thread but how many goals have we conceded recently that haven't been as a direct individual mistake, own goal or dodgy refereeing decision? Not many. Since Norwich when I'd say the run started we've shipped 12 goals most of which were pretty unlucky in my book.

Lati messed up V Norwich

Kitch OG Vs Watford

Binks for treatment off the pitch when Sheff Wed score in the Cup and Lati scored OG in the league

Ipswich are a prem team and it showed, got the line up a wrong & shipped 3 and a pen

Although Leeds battered us it was Simms bad pass back and Dovin spilling it that cost us

Prestons goal was miles offside.

Agreed that the defence do look shaky to the eye but somehow we are just not letting in standard goals. They must be doing something right

I said before the Preston game if FL masterminds 3 pts from it these players will be hard to stop. FL hardest job now will be to keep the group grounded and focused only on the next game. The confidence will be through the roof and training will be competitive with those wanting to keep squad places nevermind starting spots.

Great position we have got in, but this is now the start of the race to get a place in the top 6. What to think? Just want 3 pts Saturday and see the potential group for 2 places get smaller. Then look to do the same the week after... But its been an unbelievable run thats allowed fans to start believing its on for a wembley day out ..

The next 3 matches are ones we will need to try to keep up our current form as we then get the tricky 3 of Sunderland Sheff Utd and Burnley. So 3 good results before keep our form and confidence and see what happens against Sunderland

Sunderland have basically got 2 months of nothing to play for football. They are pretty much guaranteed to finish 4th. Whoever they play will be battle hardened after the fight for 5th and 6th. Really hope we play them in the semi if we make it.

Are we a top 6 team over the course of a season? Probably

will be hard from 5th or 6th to do it 3rd and 4th miles ahead of the rest

Another 3-5 point swing in our favour before we play them and I think we’ll be in with a serious shout of 4th if we beat them.

if Sheff united beat Leeds that will go in our favour as can’t see Leeds losing 2 on the bounce and they have WBA on Saturday

Pleased to see that Leeds are in fact quite a bit better than everyone else. I was worried after leeds game at the CBS that SU and Burnley were also at that level with games to come against them, they're not and we should fear none of our remaining fixtures now.

We'll probably drop points in the next few games, against the form book, then pick up an unlikely win against Sunderland/Sheff Utd/Burnley.

It rarely goes exactly true to form.

6-7 points from the next three, and then an optimistic 3pts from the harder three matches, would be 10 pts from 6, and would keep us firmly in it.

Sunderland are not as good as the table suggests. They've been struggling lately and have now lost one of if not their best player, Le Fee, to injury. Ballard also picked up an injury in the home defeat to Hull. We're also at home. I don't see it as an unlikely win.

But spot on with Sheffield United and Burnley. They are going to be a real test on how far forward we have come with Lampard. I think we will be points clear of 7th before these games. 0-0 against Burnley wouldn't be a surprise

We were far superior to Sheffield U at the CBS,, without a manager.
Played crap at Burnley (also without a manager) but only narrowly lost.
if we want to go up, we’re going to have to beat one of these in the final.

Not necessarily. We could finish 5th and an in form 6th place team like Norwich, Boro or West Brom could beat them over 2 legs.
