This I entirely agree with.

Some on here will have everyone believe that Wasps have set out to totally destroy us and scupper us at every single turn.

If they were that bad, that evil, that despicable, then they indeed would have surely tried to make things a lot more difficult.

Couldn't they have said we can play on Saturday's but not until after their game? Or even before, say at 1 or 2 pm?

If it suited them they'd play in a Saturday at 3 PM - they can't as the extended agreement means that they don't have fixture primacy - the way you are fooled into believing their nonsense is baffling.

I would say the way you paranoidly declare they wish to totally destroy us is even more baffling.

I am not fooled by anything. I have never said they have done this for us and have obviously done it because it suits them.

Never said anything different.

Did your prior post not say they could make us play at a different time? So you accept they had absolutely no choice whatsoever I'm this decision and therefore is not conciliatory at all?

I am saying if they really wanted to destroy us it would be well worth their time to play in Friday night or Saturday lunchtime and churn up the pitch, making life very difficult for us.

About them making us change times it was a question as much as anything else. I would like to know the exact ruling.

We may well have the primary choice of playing Saturday, but can they dictate at what time Saturday? Does it have to be 3 pm. What is the ruling? Just Saturday, or Saturday, 3 pm?

If we decide 3 PM that's it. They then have to accommodate so lunchtime is totally out of the question as logistics would be impossible,

Playing Friday night would have very negative impact on their revenue.so the statement is bullshit. Keep swallowing it though.

I am not swallowing anything. Why do you always have to be so aggressive all the time?

I come on here to share thoughts with fellow supporters, see what is happening, have a laugh and hear about new signings etc. I come on here for a positive experience.

Why do you come on here? Seemingly only to argue with all an sundry, make enemies, belittle people, insult people and just argue, argue, argue.

Do you ever say anything positive at all? You seem a very bitter and twisted individual, who gets off on having a never-ending argument and disagreement with posters.

The Friday thing was based on their 'wanting to destroy us.' If they really wanted to destroy us it would be well worth their taking the hit on a couple of Friday night games.

Of course it would have a negative impact, but they want to destroy us right?

Think when you want to destroy someone you go to extraordinary lengths don't you?

Shame. You used to be a good poster a while back.

But why would they play friday night or saturday lunchtime? It wouldn't be the best option for them...

Do you think it would be possible for them to play Saturday lunchtime and us at 3pm?

To 'destroy' us.

I am putting myself in the what I see as ridiculous headspace of them 'seeking to destroy us.'

Surely they would do anything and everything to hurt us wouldn't they?

They must sit down in meetings and discuss ways of destroying Coventry City Football Club.

Otis, you are being a little bit naive again.

I am pretty sure they must sit down in meetings and discuss how they can become the primary sports team in Coventry.

Me too.

He has unfortunately become a caricature. It is now so relentless. Argument after argument, page after page.

Sometimes we can all agree to disagree can't we?

I have a very positive outlook on life. Unfortunately Grendel is seemingly the opposite, at least on here anyway.

I used to see him as a counter balance, but I don't think he insulted people as he does now. If you don't agree with him he tries to belittle you or insult you and even when you explain yourself, he just ignores that and sticks with his pro-formed opinion of you and your stance.

If I came on here and just argued with the majority of people and was pretty much disliked by the majority, I wouldn't be on here very long, I'd be gone.

We can all disagree at times and I am totally fine with that, but it is the relentlessness of it with Grendel. It is incessant and he will go for 100 pages plus if you let him just to argue with you.

I just tend not to argue with him anymore. I say my bit and then move to other threads.

It is a great shame, but hey, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Back to my positive outlook!

Where? Where have I fallen for any spin?

Nick, my stance is, Wasps don't mind us being here as long as it is on their terms. I certainly don't think they wish to destroy us.

I don't and haven't bought anything they have said. I feel everything they have done is for their own benefit. I just don't believe they want to destroy us.

Where is the naivety?

I think my third posting got a 'fuck off' from Grendel. I've also been called a Wasps plant and a 'sleeper', even though I joined before Wasps bought the stadium but didn't post anything until recently.

The whole notion that Wasps want to destroy CCFC is so laughable it shouldn't warrant a discussion at all, but some really believe that is the case. Why would you deliberately set out to destroy a guaranteed revenue stream?

Fair enough, but I have never bought any of their spin.

There a lot of things they could have said that could have been a lot more negative if they wished to make it clear they didn't want us here.

Could have quite easily put in their statement that they were keen to play Saturdays but couldn't because of the agreement in place.

That would have surely added to the notion that we are not wanted here wouldn't it?

I don't buy any of their spin, despite Grendel stating the contrary.

I do believe Wasps want to be the primary club here. I do believe they are acting in their own interests.

I just don't think they are actively trying to force us out. I think as long as we can stay here on their terms they are happy for us to stay here.

What if their terms are going to be silly?

Well we haven't got there yet have we. Can't see the point of second guessing. They're not even talking to each other at the moment are they.

If they offer us silly terms then they don't want us here, but we are not there yet and there is no suggestion that they are going to offer silly terms, other than in supporters heads.

I don't believe much of what Sisu say and I take everything from Wasps and the council with a bit of a pinch of salt.

Just don't get where this naivety comes from? If I don't believe any of Wasps spin how am I naive?

I think if they can be the primary club and things go okay for them here then they will be happy for us to stay.

They are going to make more friends in this city if they don't do the dirty on the city's professional football club.

I dare say there are a fair few City fans who are Wasps fans too.

For Wasps at the moment they are only wanting to get a foothold here and make as many friends as possible.

I don't mind talking to you, Nick. You put your arguments across well and I would say are very respectful of people's views.

A healthy debate is fine and I always feel we can agree to disagree on matters and that is the way it should always be on here to my mind.

What about the whole 17 sites they looked at but just happened to choose where the CCFC academy is? Which just happens to be run by the company trying their very best to push Rugby through the city to make it a city of rugby?

What about us not being allowed to play games against Fulham for charity pre season at the Ricoh?

The thing is, they could do whatever they want to CCFC and they would just say "SISU's fault" and it would all be ok. Take the academy thing for example, news came out Wasps were going there and people got angry at Wasps. Threads made by people (not the usuals) about boycotting Wasps etc. A statement comes out from them and CSF and it just pretty much says it is SISU's fault, everything then changes.

Word from the academy though was that there appeared to be a falling out with Coventry City didn't there.

Surely for Wasps, from their perspective, why not move into something that already has the foundations in place?

You do have to blame Sisu for a lot of the falling out with people and they do seemingly fall out with a lot of people.

What was the reason on the Fulham thing? That sort of passed me by to be honest.

Didn't most people who felt it is SISU's fault base this on the fact that up until very recently SISU have been saying the plan is to build a new stadium, training facility and Academy. So any contracts at the Ricoh and Higgs will be short term whilst this gets sorted.
The owners of the centre have somebody else saying we want it long term and are ready and willing with our cash.
That opinion is unlikely to have been due to the article

Why would they have needed a pitch priority term when they return as they were the only club playing there at the time?

I've looked for the terms of the agreement, but can't find them - in fact Waggott said in August 2014 -

“There has had to be compromise on both sides and the commercial details of the deal will remain confidential." (http://www.ccfc.co.uk//news/article...-ricoh-arena-announcement-210814-1849840.aspx)

However, if you could post a link to the specifics of the terms I'm sure it will clear the point up.

Bottom line is, people were happy with this news even if it made no change at all to what was already in place.

This 'news/non news 'was cheered because seemingly everything else coming out about Coventry City was negative and detrimental to the club and as armybike asks, where is the fine detail of the agreement?

What are the caveats? What are the clauses? What does it say in the small print?

The other thing that seems to have been left out of, or brushed over, is that Wasps seemingly WISH to play on Sundays.

The City wish to play on Saturdays. This is surely something we should be thankful for.

If Wasps wanted to play on Saturdays, but were prevented from doing so by our being here, then the argument could be made to be much stronger in terms of them wanting us out. As it stands we are both seemingly getting what we want in terms of ground usage.

If we do wish to stay at the Ricoh, then surely Wasps wanting to play on Sundays and the City wanting to continue playing on Saturdays helps the two clubs in terms of forming a relationship of usage.

Why happy or cheered? Surely its the same as an article that says "today is Sunday"

Yep, but you are not getting the point, Nick (I won't call you naive)

Every bit of news coming out appeared to be negative (no to the Butts, the academy Higgs thing, the nowhere forwards on a new stadium, talk of Mowbray maybe going etc). Some of it of course only rumour.

This may well be just spin and PR but people were happy that something remained in place and I am sure many were thinking that some clause or loophole could have changed the situation. I know I did.

Hard to trust anyone and anything, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was a 'Coventry City have primacy, but.......'

What I don't get is the negativity around this.

I think we all know it is spin don't we? I think most of us (the sensible ones anyway) are just happy that things have stayed the way they are and we haven't been dropped another bombshell.

Cheers for that, Nick. It is just one line though.

Do we have primacy for as long as we are there? Is it just until our current deal runs out? Are there any clauses in place that change that ruling?

The negativity is of posters having a go at other posters over it.

In the world of Coventry City, non bad news is considered good news.

Some were seemingly miffed and annoyed that others were happy about this statement.

It's not bad news, so it is good news and like I say, how long have we got primacy for? What if it was just for the initial two years, before the option of the further two?

There is no meat on the bones.
