We should not assume we are there already. We have a tough game at Sheffield next, and lose that and others pick up wins and the pressure is back on.

I assumed our goal difference was unassailable. However assuming a Sheffield Wednesday win, could this happen?

Ok real pessimistic view below

Assuming 1-0 win v Sheffield Wednesday then four losses in theory could be a swing of say -7
ie +1 v SW
-2 v Blackburn
-1 v Portsmouth
-3 v Wrexham
-2 v Watford

Middlesbrough gain +16
+4 v Portsmouth
+1 v Ipswich
+7 v Sheffield Wed
+2 v Watford
+2 v Wrexham

Considering the shots Middlesbrough have those win margins are not impossible if they finally get their shooting boots on.

The above is a -23 swing and we would finish third. I was confident until I typed this but not so confident now.

Firstly: yeah
But secondly: no more so than the idea we suddenly lose four out of five while Boro win all their games.

We’re up for all intents and purposes. We’re champions really for all intents and purposes. Just needs mathematical confirmation now.

God I hope people don’t invade the pitch - the players will be confused as they’ll know the job isn’t done & we’ll be a joke to a lot of other fanbases.

It will likely be Pompey for the title - save it for then

We wouldn't be celebrating beating Wednesday would we, we'd be celebrating promotion gained over the season which will be guaranteed imo, nobody's turning that goal difference round in 4 games, Millwall won't even match Boro's goal difference never mind ours, I'm not a pitch invader anyway but can understand that those that might want to.

I think it's really important over the next couple of weeks that as a fan base we remember that this isn't just about points records, the trophy presentation, all of the goals, the growth and character these boys have shown after all those heartbreaks, the CBS in our hands, those who travel every week and those who can't, the Premier League, the global recognition, those who aren't with us to share this moment, the financial future of the club, Team of The Season awards, the knock on impact on the community...

It's also about laughing at how shite Lesta and Blues are.

It will be great if we can win the league and get presented the trophy after putting Hollywood in there place. We certainly should be celebrating after Saturday as its not done and dusted.First of all we have to hope the lads find there shooting boots and instead of shit crosses and wild shooting from anywhere are more controlled in front of goal go a few up early if possible then keep it tight and get a few more.No pitch invasion as that is just fucking ridiculous,DK will be putting a statement out this week I suspect that anyone going on the pitch will be dealt with.Lets not spoil it now and just get behind the lads from the stands.A stadium ovation if we win Saturday as the players hopefully go around the pitch instead of spending ages at singers corner.

So the team scoring lots of goals because we have lots of goalscorers will score only 1 and the side without goalscorers will score 7

Forget about Middlesbrough and Millwall. 12 points behind us with 5 games to go. We should beat Sheffield Wednesday to make it 15 points ahead with the GD on top. We're not going to lose our last 4 games. Ipswich are our only serious rivals but are 12 points behind with just 7 games to go. Beat Sheffield Wednesday and we're 15 points ahead of Ipswich with 7 games to go for them. That's 5 wins out of 5 just to have a chance of keeping up with us with 2 games to go.

Ipswich are not going to win every single game remaining. I don't even think they will win their next game. We just need to keep plugging away waiting for Ipswich to drop points.....and they will.

Take a chill pill and enjoy the rest of the season.

In danger of looking a gift horse in the mouth I find myself hoping Millwall win on Friday so we can't officially confirm promotion this weekend, I want it to be at full-time of our game rather than someone else's a few hours later.

We're already up, we have been for a few weeks.

A win on Saturday all but confirms that but not mathematically, the next celebration is when it is mathematically confirmed not "basically confirmed because we have a good goal difference".

We'd be a laughing stock if there was a pitch invasion for basically promoted but not yet.

I saw the Opta expected points yesterday. Ipswich are tipped to come 2nd on 83 points - we already have 84 (we are predicted to finish on 94)

I think Southampton could win their last 6 games and finish on 84 and if they don't they will probably win the play offs. It's been a good season for non parachute clubs and would be a shame if Ipswich & Southampton both go up.

Apologies if this has been posted on here,

once confirmed, City could be awarded a trophy after the Wrexham game at the CBS Arena on Sunday, April 26 (12pm), either the runners up silverware or the trophy for the Championship title. If the title is still not decided by that game, then the presentations will go to the last match of the season, away at Watford on May 2.

EFL guidance states that: "'The trophy will always be lifted in season, and wherever possible, our preference is for it to be presented at a Club’s last home match of the season.

"If this isn’t possible, because the trophy isn’t secured until the final day of the season when the winning Club is playing away, in these circumstances we will work with the home Club to facilitate the lifting of the trophy at that game."

If promotion is confirmed this weekend then a board marking the achievement is likely to be erected after the game at Blackburn Rovers on Friday, April 17, where over 7,000 fans will be making the trip for the televised game at Ewood Park.

Similarly, if Coventry’s players stay together on Saturday to watch the Boro game, Sky cameras could be on hand to film any potential in-house celebrations.

When and where Coventry City will lift a trophy if promotion is confirmed

If you'd told me at the start of the season we'd be watching 6th v 7th with 5 games to go and the outcome would make zero difference to where we finished, I'd have assumed we'd had some kind of points deduction.

I want Millwall (and Middlesbrough for that matter) to win all of their remaining games as they are no risk to us whatsoever, and I’d much rather one of them finished 2nd than Ipswich.
