I recently moved to a different province and j just picked up my new licence plates.
The girl asked me what CCFC stands for. I proudly said “Coventry City Football Club”
I was ready to answer the usual questions “why is it football and not soccer? etc etc but to my surprise she said”I was just reading about them” unfortunately she followed up with “ Isn’t that the team that Ryan Reynolds’s just played against”?

Does that mean you've moved to beautiful BC? (Visited friends in Kelowna last year and it certainly was!).
You should have asked who Ryan Reynolds is and who he plays for!

Moved in October to Vancouver Island. Saturday games went from 8:00a.m. to 7:00a. m. but no more minus 45 degree winters.

I went to Vancouver in a September years ago, the whole idea of Canada being all snow and mounties fooled me, it was like a tropical paradise. Alberta in November though, now there's cold.

We went to Vancouver for a few days but sadly didn't get to the island.

Wouldn’t worry too much, they know as much about footy as we do about Hockey.

Always wanted to visit Canada, even the French-speaking parts…if there’s any left?

Definitely French speaking parts. Bit sparse apart from Quebec though I think.

Montreal too, I think, well it used to be.

Was thinking to myself ‘How many Canadian footballers are/have been prominent in the past?’ and aside from Alphonso Davies, I’m a bit stumped. There’s Hutchinson who played for FC Copenhagen, and who else?

I keep thinking Wynton Rufer was Canadian, but he’s a Kiwi of course.

A previous custodian of the Mrs D title was from North Wales…It wasn’t the easiest of splits.
I ain’t seen her for over 10 years. Bumped into her this week when I was walking home from work.
And the first fucking thing she says…

In which case, perhaps they can pretend Wynton Rufer was one of their own.

I guess all of the sporting avenues are pretty thin in Canada, except the Hockey one.

Forgot about Hargreaves, why didn’t he sign again? Was it a case of Man Utd just hijacking the deal?

There’s another that played for a midlands club whose managing director was his wife.
He played for 9 British clubs altogether (and managed a different midlands club where his claim to “fame” was turning down the chance to sign a young Jamie Vardy)
