91/92 is well overrated. I suspect it just has childhood appeal for a lot on here.

To me it just looks like a lot of random elements thrown together to make a horrible kit.

Yep, it's a bit too busy whereas the asics home that precedes it is almost perfect

Blue and white stripes on a Coventry kit are never acceptable and certainly not perfect, and those are facts my friend.

I can't believe the organiser of a competition can display such outrageous bias and not be on FIFA's payroll.

What's the story with the TV only kit, why was it needed?

Pretty sure shirt sponsors were not allowed to be worn when game was televised.

TV didn't like Talbot cars advertising via the club's shirts. In the case of the BBC, because it was advertising. In the case of ITV, because it wasn't them getting the money.

91/92 put up a valiant fight but couldn't wrestle 2nd place away from 92/93. 77/78 comfortable group winners.

Ultimately choosing between 77/78 and 97/98 will be like choosing between rice and naan

In the early years of sponsorship (Liverpool hitachi etc) clubs had to wear shirts without the sponsor name for Tv games. The big T design in our kit (which we made ourselves after leaving Admiral) was just incorporating the Talbot logo into the kit. The TV companies saw right through it and banned us from the air (even when sponsors were allowed on televised games, there were restrictions on the size of the logo, lettering of sponsors). We weren’t shown on BBC/ITV until around December of the season when we magically came up with the bigT shirt without the big T.

Pictures of Hutch and Ian Wallace in that kit set my heart a-racing. As for the other kit, it looks like a pyjama set for the warmer nights.
