16/17 - The Yakubu Shirt

Well before my time but the 70s shirt is as iconic as both the egg timer and the 60s shirt for me. I was never a fan of the first Le Coq shirt but I know its very popular amongst fans. Memories of Robbie Keane burn strong for 99/00. I think we could be in for an interesting 3 way battle here.

I'm not even going to dignify the other two shirts with a comment.

So many fond memories of that 16/17 shirt. Soft, gentle on the arse and flushed like a dream.

Voting tactically now. Ask me which the best kit of those is, and it's the mid-70s' number.

However, we already have the tramlines and the late 60s' early 70s' classic through. So it's the 99/00 Robbie Keane, peak McAllister, Moroccan magic kit. How the fuck did that team manage to go a whole season without an away win? Strachan really did flatter to deceive, didn't he.

The 06-07 is my least favourite ever, no hesitation. Like warm chintzy curtains with a pernickety little collar.

96-97 comes out on top here.

I have never quite understood the dislike for our Wembley winning 16-17 kit. I thought it was inventive and stood out a bit. I mean, it's nowhere near my favourites but...

I don,t remember the umbro motif on the shirt at the time ( but can visualise the Scotland shirt with the umbro motif ) very similar style , but not sure if it was the same year

99/00 for me, what a kit and what a team in that season.

Surely the weather's hot enough without needing to include 16/17 and boil the blood even more

It’s difficult to get decent images of all the away kits but I’ll definitely look into it.

Cheers. I'm sure I'll be bored enough to crack on with this before the new season starts.

Think on balance that 16/17 kit is the worst thing to be produced in the history of humanity

Group F is still on a knife edge. Any 2 from 3 could still make it through. Polling ends tomorrow morning so get your vote in if you haven’t already.

The tightest group of all by far. 96/97 take it with 99/00 pipping 74/75 to 2nd place by the barest of margins. By the barest of all margins.

The Connells are gutted!

I was very torn between 74-75 and 99/00 but went with the latter purely because it's from my lifetime.
