I think we have be be mindful that Viveash knows the weaknesses of our players better than anyone.

I can see him trying to isolate JDS and have a wide player chase long / high passes.

Boro would be far from the first team to try that this season, but generally we're wise to it and give Dasilva the cover he needs. My concern is actually more to do with Kitching and Thomas reverting to bad habits.

Sakamoto is arguably in his best form since joining us. Always a threat and his work rate is ridiculous.

Two bang average teams who could neither of them string 3 passes together. Basic errors all over the place. How many times did Tats blast his cross across to the other side of the pitch. Simms worked hard but a woeful first touch. EMC has negligible faith to take his man on, plays like a utility midfielder [bar that shot].

Torp and Grimes and the central defence were reasonably solid. We so miss Rudoni for a bit of skill.

Glad we won but as a game of 2nd tier football, pretty crap skill level. The Prem clubs won't be quaking in their boots

Special mention for Allen. No good as a starter but handy to come on to close a game out. His first two touches were headers both of which he won

Not that Im complaining as we won, but Rushworths kicking was a bit flakey today and caused a few near dramas. Maybe the wet ball didnt help. Such a good keeper though

Maybe the infamous 'KKH at left back' is worth a whirl, Dasilva playing on fumes isn't worth it.

Looking at this and seen that it is that Morgan Whitaker who plays wide right I’d be tempted to bench EMC and plan him as an impact sub. Rudoni wide left because I think he tracks back better to cover JDS.

Rushworth 6

Not sure if he could have done better for their goals and nearly cost us another by faffing and low kicking to them out of position under a press. Good save from Molmboy (sp?) might have been a match saver.

JDS 6

Too easily dispossessed for their first goal and was clearly out of position for their second. Both goals came from his side. Not terrible, but not great.

Kitching 6

Lost his man / should have poked out for a corner. Still, did ok.

Thomas 7

Great assist for Sims. Bit flat footed a couple of occasions. The central defenders are a good pair overall.

MVE 6

Got forward, but poor shot selection and final ball lacked most times.

Grimes 8

Class. Just controlled the game. Didn’t let Grant wind him up.

Torp 8

There’s only one man you want running on to the loose ball on the box edge. Woodwork rattled too.

Eccles 7

Well taken easy chance. Bottom line is he took it. Missed another easy chance earlier. Did the right thing in going down with the shirt pull.

Tats 8

Must be a nightmare to play against. On it all game.

EMC 7

Kept charging forward but must learn the offside rule.

Sims 8

Same as above, missed one easy chance and scored another. Looked lively.

Subs

All 6

But, WTF did Allen not shoot and instead did some weird pass when clean through?

I didn't think Eccles goal easy to finish ?
Picked his spot past an oncoming defender.

Look, I couldn’t score it, but it was hung up perfectly and he had bags of time and space.

Rare opportunity taken well.

I can see Tues being a 3 at the back and wing backs kind of game.

Just felt like it really upset our midfield. Though as I say, no harm done.

Lots of harm done, because we only won 3-2 instead of 5-2.

Those subs cost us at least 2 more goals

Simms good. Tatsu got us back into it and played well. Eccles started poorly but got better and good movement and header for the crucial goal, when they looked strong at the back. Nearly scored with a couple of scrambled shots as well. EMC good control and their defender had his shirt off his back going into the area but no foul. Couldn't beat their back on the outside but one thunderous shot. Torp good, great shot to hit the bar, one going in blocked and a great winning goal. Bobby, Grimes and MVE fine, as ever. Kitch not great for their goals, but there is always that difficult balance between playing offside and intercepting the ball. A repeat of one of the Wrexham goals. Needs addressing. Good rest of the match.
The international break was a double edged sword. Haji injured and out for a few weeks. BTA looked jet lagged. JDS lost concentration for their first goal, but got back into the groove again.
Rudi looked a bit off it yet.
Like against Watford, we took our foot off the gas, which is understandable with two tough matches in quick succession. Earlier in the season, we would have pressed for more goals.

Is he, I don't think so?

He wasn't on the bench Lati, Bidwell, KKH & Brau were the defensive cover.

Thought Lampard got his subs wrong today.
If you're going to bring on a midfielder who hasn't played for months probably best to not make too many other subs in that area.

Thought we lost a bit of control towards the end, not that it mattered ultimately

Yeah, I noticed this as well and they had it around out box more than I'd have liked last 5 minutes.

Also thought Simms was having a good game and it didn't stick up front as much when Thomas-Asante came on.

Can see why he might have been bought on though to run at a tired team who were down a man

As I said elsewhere, with Wright out I do hope not allowing Frank to sign Bamford as a cover player doesn’t bite. I don’t particularly rate Bamford and “match fitness” and “blah blah” aside, an injury to Sims means we would be a bit short in the big striker department.

The ease at which me make chances is mental, the 15 mins after half time was a complete onslaught. Think we could have scored a few more if we needed/wanted too.

Given Wright's recent run of form, a rest and a chance to recover from all the international travelling could do him the world of good.
