Agree with that. Thomas also good.

Kitching (first half) and MvE comparatively poor. Dasilva took unnecessary risks at times.

He had a moment near the end where he had more time but just passed it into one of their players again but got away with it on that occasion. Needed to wake up a bit at times tbh.

Yes, he needs to learn when to just move the ball on quickly and when to play his 5-a-side stuff

Rushworth 6

Not sure if he could have done better for their goals and nearly cost us another by faffing and low kicking to them out of position under a press. Good save from Molmboy (sp?) might have been a match saver.

JDS 6

Too easily dispossessed for their first goal and was clearly out of position for their second. Both goals came from his side. Not terrible, but not great.

Kitching 6

Lost his man / should have poked out for a corner. Still, did ok.

Thomas 7

Great assist for Sims. Bit flat footed a couple of occasions. The central defenders are a good pair overall.

MVE 6

Got forward, but poor shot selection and final ball lacked most times.

Grimes 8

Class. Just controlled the game. Didn’t let Grant wind him up.

Torp 8

There’s only one man you want running on to the loose ball on the box edge. Woodwork rattled too.

Eccles 7

Well taken easy chance. Bottom line is he took it. Missed another easy chance earlier. Did the right thing in going down with the shirt pull.

Tats 8

Must be a nightmare to play against. On it all game.

EMC 7

Kept charging forward but must learn the offside rule.

Sims 8

Same as above, missed one easy chance and scored another. Looked lively.

Subs

All 6

But, WTF did Allen not shoot and instead did some weird pass when clean through?

Thought all the back line including Grimes were poor on the ball and easily closed today. Saka MotM, most looked like they hadn’t played football for two weeks was important to get the points more than the performance

His technical ability when striking a ball is the best I can remember of any city player I've watched in the last 40 years.

Grimes, DaSilva, Rushworth and Kitch had dodgy starts but didn't let it effect them.
They went on to give good performances in the 2nd half.

What is Saka on, never stopped running and was combining so well with MVE. MVE however didn't have the right shooting boots on and had a few shots at goal that ended up in row Z.

Good performances from Simms and Eccles. Simms is laying decent balls off where last season he would have misplaced his pass and lost possession, the crowd are loving him again. Eccles plays smarter than most people realise.

Good work from EMC, he is a great outlet and defenders find it hard to play against him because he is so strong and tricky.

Really happy to see Rudi back but he didn't get into the game much.

Torp has magic in his boots. What a great goal.

EMC needs to mix it up a bit i think, confident he will continue to grow but it’s not league one anymore he’s not actually faster than all his opponents-and a step over and run round the outside won’t cut it anymore

Disagree with the EMC comments. He’s always an outlet for us and for anyone in the stadium today - obvious how influential he is for our team. One of Frank’s first names on the team sheet and rightly so.

The fucking about at the back for that goal started on the right hand side, poor from I think k Thomas and Rushworth before JDS made a complete arse of it.

Thought Lampard got his subs wrong today.
If you're going to bring on a midfielder who hasn't played for months probably best to not make too many other subs in that area.

Thought we lost a bit of control towards the end, not that it mattered ultimately

Agree.

They are a physical side with the mindset and of going long and trying to nick a goal in the closing stages.

Bringing Allen on?

Feel like the subs of Simms Top Saka and Eccles were pre planned for the three game week

Think today was just one game too many for him after his international commitments. We need Bidwell and/or Brau to be capable of starting really.

If you ignore the keeper cbs and Grimes who all probably do the least running in the side, him BTA and MvE have played loads of minutes. And he’s the only one without a backup you’d trust for a few weeks there

Maybe the infamous 'KKH at left back' is worth a whirl, Dasilva playing on fumes isn't worth it.

I think that’s what I’d do. Wrexham we had to play him RB but I’d guess is MvE was there he’d have come in instead of Bidwell. We need to find a nice L1 club for Bidders in Jan.

I think we have be be mindful that Viveash knows the weaknesses of our players better than anyone (and that includes MR, who I think did less training with the players than Ade)

I can see him trying to isolate JDS and have a wide player chase long / high passes, particularly after seeing the WBA goals today. Who is the Boro wide right?
