Hi,

I am a Watford fan, and will be writing a preview of Saturday's match for WFC Forums. As part of this, I am hoping to include the views of a few Coventry fans, so was hoping some of you would answer a few questions.

  1. What do you think has caused your poor start to the season?
  2. Who is your key player, and are there any particularly strong or weak areas of the team?
  3. What will be the impact of loosing players such as King and Westwood?
  4. What are your expectations for the season?
  5. Finally, what is your match prediction?
I'll be posting the preview tomorrow afternoon, so could do with having any replies by lunchtime.

Thanks!

1. Sisu failing to invest in the squad so we have no experienced Striker and a small young squad
2. Clingan experienced international player. The Strikeforce is weak due to lack of investment
3. Poor results such as have been shown, King is the real key here. We create chances but have no-one to put them away.
4. Relegation or survival by the skin of our teeth (again)
5. 1-2 win for Watford unfortunately as we proved Tuesday we can't hold a lead.

1. Lack of money and lack of a decent striker
2. Key player is Sammy Clingan, weak point is our strikers and we haven't really got a strong point
3. Massive, Murphy isn't good enough and we can't score
4. Relegation
5. 1-1

1 - A naive squad due to lack of experience. The youngsters, while promising, cannot be relied on to carry the team.
2 - Lukas Jutkiewicz - our only outlet up front and is a handful for most defences. Also Sammy Clingan is key to the way the team functions. When these 2 play badly so does the team. We have a strong defence but struggle to create chances (and then take them!).
3 - A big impact. Westwood has been replaced fairly well, but King has not been. Without him we will not score the goals that we need to be competetive. The sooner King is replaced the better.
4 - A real struggle. If we bring in a striker and a creative midfielder we can survive. If not we're looking dead certs for the drop.
5 - I reckon a draw. Probably 0-0. Though we haven't been able to focus at the back for 90 minutes yet so I can see Watford nicking it as well.

  1. What do you think has caused your poor start to the season?
SISU - They have spent the last 2 seasons or so subtly asset stripping and given us no replacements.
  2. Who is your key player, and are there any particularly strong or weak areas of the team?
Clingan is our key player - incredible range of passing and a good set piece taker.
Jukiewicz can bring a ball down, beat his man and set up - though not a goal scorer himself.
  3. What will be the impact of loosing players such as King and Westwood?
Westwood - made incredible saves when most couldn't, but Murphy is an adequate replacement
King - no-one else in our squad is a proven goalscorer - the partnership of King and Juke worked wonders.
  4. What are your expectations for the season?
    Survival - simple as
  5. Finally, what is your match prediction?
2-1 to Coventry - Juke will score and Roy O'Donovan might sneak one in ointlaugh: but Watford will at least score during a lapse of concentration. (more likely 1-1 but hey, I can dream!)
Hope that helps!
