Come on Doug sort the upper deck of the Main Stand out, can't keep having sell outs with all those empty seats. Also wasted seats in the South Stand next to the segregation fence. Get em filled!

Looks like Doug must of been reading my post as he's opened block 9 for the Sheff Utd game. Shame he couldn't get it opened in time for the Blackburn and Watford games. Next sort the balcony out

There’s a seat behind me that is spare, I sent an email to the ticket office asking if I can purchase it as it was end of row and wanted it for my son in-law who’s in the forces. They replied NO ! It’s never got anyone sat in it ffs . Doug sort this out

Definitely think they need an audit as some seats probably not on the system because I’ve never not know a “sold out” game to have loads of empty seats

Balcony will be loads of spare seats, looks really annoying from where I sit. Whatever needs to be done it has to get sorted.

Fun fact, Block 9 is also the name of the area of Glastonbury dedicated to techno and the festival’s biggest gay bar.

Best idea I’ve heard is move the press up there and anyone else who takes up room in the stands and convert that to normal seats. You can’t increase capacity up there afaik which sound bloody ridiculous but par for the course it seems with this place and health and safety.

Should put a camera box up there so we can actually get shots of the full stand…

Inside the Balcony Street Bar Lounge is always packed there's obviously more seats outside than inside.

For the lower tier there are more corporate seats than the corporate lounges can accommodate. Not sure how, either a cock up when the ground was built, or the fire regs have changed on how many people can be inside at once. Hence why those seats by the dugout get sold as premium but without access to the lounges.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a similar issue with the balcony

How is block 9 going to work for the Sheff utd game??

Isnt segregation built in in the concourse, let alone the stand?

Yep you are right and the only access to the Balcony is through the Lounge so hard to sell them as non corporate ( but not impossible)

Home fans in Block 9 will be able to use the vomitory situated next to them in Block 10 to gain access to the concourse.
I’d imagine that’s how it will work

It looks like they are just selling the seats that are normally empty before the segregation netting, maybe in the future if we play someone with a small away following we can push the netting further along the block so more tickets will be available

With the ease to move the fence it would make sense.
It’s not like the situation we had for the start of the 1977 season when visiting supporters were housed at the Kop end of HR and the segregation fence was a permanent fix.
Not that I recall a need over the following 15 seasons for a sudden uptake in home support to be accommodated!

If the main stand was full they wouldn't need to. I think I read that the TV companies prefer the camera's facing the dugouts

There's loads of room down there currently. There is a staircase that leads up to Block 9.

To be honest, as an occasional Balcony Bar visitor the actual stadium seating is probably the worst bit. If they upgrades the seats with more room they could probably charge more up there with no loss of capacity. Give me my ODEON Luxe leather recliner Doug!

An audit on seats really needs to be done. I might be shooting myself in the foot because there's been 3 seats empty either side of my group for the last 5 years and the extra seats are great.

If you look on the ticketing site do those seats show there at all, even as sold? Wondering if there's just seats that aren't on the system at all or if they're on it but for some reason never on sale.

Either way they really need to sort it.

Never thought we'd be in a position where we had to go round the stadium and check for spare seats, long gone are the days when you could have a few rows to yourself!

The media room is in the atrium on the first floor and then goes lower again.
This would not quite work at half time to get the press down and up in the half time slot.

I do agree that the press area are isn't great and takes up so much space.
