Leon McKenzie, bloke was useless, kick and chase merchant, had no dribberling skill at all, can't believe some people actually thought he was good.

I know it's a while ago now, but the Tim Sherwood signing still rankles with me. How he ever passed a medical I don't know, and whoever authorized giving him a two year contract [Reid/Hover/McGinnity??] needs their head examining.

My mates a sunderland fan and said kyle was the best bit of business they've ever done (this was before henderson being sold)

So many to choose from, but Kyle stands out for me. Hard to believe the money this club has spunked serious cash on players that were never ever going to be any good.

Would like to see a list of the players over the last 10 years, we've had hundreds it seems.

Where do you start...

Lee Hughes, Keith O'Neill, Kevin Kyle, Leon Mckenzie, Freedy Eastwood, Tim Sherwood, and other assorted dross we have brought in on free transfers and let go after a sh*te season such as Ian brightwell, Arjen De Zeeuw, Steve Walsh (fat ex leicester centre half played one game and got rid of) and so on.......

KevinKyle would be hard to beat as the worst player ever to pull on the mighty sky blue shirt.

Keith O'Neill
Tim Sherwood
Arjen De Zeeuw - I was gutted about him. Thought he would do the business for another year, but he was absolutely shocking.
Freddy Eastwood - Only due to the money spent.

Didn't we actually get defensively worse when De Zeeuw regained fitness and started playing?

Even worse than Clive Platt?

Direct from Wikipedia.

Clive Linton Platt (born 27 October 1977 in Wolverhampton, England) is an English footballer, currently warming the bench at Coventry City, having previously played for Peterborough United, Notts County, Rochdale, Walsall, Milton Keynes Dons and Colchester United.

Or Freddy Eastwood?

Freddy Eastwood (born 29 October 1983) is an English-born footballer, currently thieving scrap metal at Coventry City. He is a Welsh International, eligible to play for the Wales national football team as his maternal grandfather was born in Llanelli, Wales. He is an active member of the Romani community.

Absolutely - he makes Platt look like Platini - totally out of his depth in the old First Division - no pace, no vision, his first touch was usually a pass to the opposition, constantly out of position, couldn't read the game, couldn't pass wind - we would have been better playing with 10 men as long as he wasn't on the pitch - he was utterly useless.

Money-wise, the worst have got to be Keith O'Neill, Tim Sherwood and Kevin Kyle.

Agree with every name mentioned, although a bit harsh on Cobi Jones (although dont remember too much about him tbf).

What about Lee Mills?? Cant believe we signed him permanently. This post really highlights the shit we've had to watch over the years!

I was goin to sebastian oltzar but wasnt sure if people would remember him. And juan zara, although he was only on loan i think. Brilliant team though (well though up i mean, it wud actually be a really shit team if we played em all together). Onandi lowe and Trevor Benjamin. Imagine that as your strike force!!! A drug dealer and a journey man! Haha

Ysrael Zuniga is Peruvian. The 2 Honduran's we had were Ivan Guerrero and Jairo Martinez.

Money-wise Platt was an incredible bargain compared to some of the names here! What was he, 15-20k? Given our early season success last year, he more than paid us back. Yeah, he's one-dimensional, but cost virtually nothing and did contribute until Aidy got sussed out.

I thought Staunton was solid and did what De Zeeuw was meant to do, bring experience and leadership. Cracking goal when he wandered forwards from the back, bang and smashed it in from outside the area.

Rennie had some cracking games at CB-remember we were in the top-flight then.

Darby was a poor player, but cost bugger all either and, again in the top-flight, scored regularly from midfield-cracking brace against Blackburn in particular. Do we have a single player in out squad capable of scoring 2 in a game v a Prem team or 6 in a season at the top flight? Darby looks a class act compared to some of the tripe we've had..

I'm with sw88-Sebastian Oltzar & Juan Zara or what ever he was called..topped only by that Michael Bischoff we got from Man C. He was bloody terrible..

They certainly didn't set the place alight that's for sure. Yeah Jairo Martinez was the striker, Ivan Guerrero was a left back.

Zuniga scored bucket loads everywhere else he went as well, sadly.

I can't believe no-one has said Runnar Normann...thanks, Strachan! Note how he is responsible for so many of our bad Prem signings? Or was it all down to Richardsons dodgy "player investment scheme" (AKA "Sky Blue Money Laundering Inc."), ah...

I was just going to say... There is an air of Strachan about a fair percentage of the signings. Its no wonder i will never forgive that man.

750k for Zuniga apparently! Geezus...
