I expect Grendel has already left the Whitley building.... (unless he's at Gaydon of course)

I've always seen Grendel as a gay don.

Wasps: "We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the Sky Blues!"

Don't get your hopes up.

A world class venue?

I thought it was a soulless white elephant.

Best bet is SISU to purchase Higgs 50% share. Come to a deal with Wasps where we get all football revenues, they get all rugby revenues and everything else is split. To be honest, if you ignore the huge franchising issue, that wouldn't be a bad result all round.

That would be the ideal, common sense outcome. Which is probably why it won't happen.

Takeover was 2 years of meticulous planning.

Seems ACL weren't fibbing then when they said they were in talks with other parties a while back.

Very surprised Sisu didn't get a whiff of this at all these past 2 years.

"It's about collaboration - not competition. I look forward to the day that Sky Blues fans look at us and say "our home is your home" and vice versa. I'm a realist and realise this will take time, though."

why cant SISU get the other half? it just astounds me? Half the price and they will still be able to get all revenues from when we play. CCFC need that other 50%, asap.

I hope the seats stay blue aswell, no doubt someone will ask that question though.

It was being posted about on here a couple of years ago, although it was dismissed by many as there was no chance of anyone else being interested in the Ricoh. Find it hard to believe that forum posters heard about it but SISU had no idea.

So is the other 50% still owned by Higgs?

Come on SISU, you need to purchase that 50% ASAP

Can't keep track of what is confirmed and what is rumour but I think it was stated last night that one of the sale conditions was the seats staying Sky Blue.

If the press can ask questions, then number one question has to be, 'Why haven't you spoken to the owners of Coventry City FC on this deal?'

They're claiming 2.77m pounds for the Higgs share (well, by they I mean Simon Gilbert).

That's chump change compared to the vast outlay for a stadium....

Can they actually buy it? Where does the council veto sit now? Is it gone?

These are questions that also need an answer

It seems like Richardson started planning some of this before he even bought Wasps, so may not have included ACL all along in the planning stage. As pointed out on a Wasps forum, Peter Rossborough Coventry Rugby recalled discussing possibilities with him two years ago, as the Wasps fans pointed out he hadn't bought the Wasps club then.

You keep batting away those criticisms of the council.

I think the ref might notice an extra 11 players on the pitch wearing a different coloured strip...

A councillor said that.

But he was a Tory, so maybe that should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'm confused. The document says 50% but then theres this quote

For those questioning the 50-per-cent figure, our man Simon Gilbert says: "Higgs have agreed to sell. Figure is £2.77m."
He'll be chatting to the charity later today so you can expect an update this afternoon.

That could be a problem if Wasps have taken on the outstanding debt for their 50%, and SISU walk in and get 50% without contributing to that debt....
