After what we went through last season, this just doesn't sit well with me at all.

At least one article I've read says that Wasps are obliged to maintain their academy and training facilities in London in order to be able to pretend that they are not moving from their county of origin.

(Partial article here...)

Simon, a bit cheeky I know, but has anyone at your end tried to chase down the RFU for a policy comment? It looks a bit like different parties are being told different things, depending on what might make the deal more attractive...

We (fans of all) are being kept in the dark on far too much of this. Playing European games there was acceptable I think, but I don't see how this can be.

Fair enough people have a go at me for going to Sixfields, I understand why they do, but a permanent move was never on the cards and look what vitriol that created. A permanent move is pretty disgusting really.

Why would you spend £30M and not play all of your games there? Dont get it??

Hmm just think of the Ricoh with all yellow and black seats..... <shudder>

Some games could just be the stalking horse, too...

I don’t represent the city council or Wasps, I represent the genuine view that this is an exciting opportunity

Exciting for who?

Far too many questions need answering ............

Why Coventry? Why not use the £30 million to build your own stadium in the London area? When will they move in? What will the stadium be called? Will they change the seats? Will they put the wasps badge all over the stadium? Will Wasps or CCFC take priority on fixtures? Will Wasps give CCFC a fair deal? Will they let CCFC get the almighty pie money? Will Wasps do everything they can to make sure that CCFC and CRFC are unaffected? Will Wasps turn CRFC in to a feeder club?

Now let's get on to the questions from Wasps fans ............

I wonder if McGinnity still runs the company that manufactures the different coloured seats for stadiums. He could make a few bob here.

Disgusting is a polite way of describing it , I find it quite unbelievable that lucas and her cronies were so against ccfc moving to sixfield's yet seem to be ok with uprooting a team from 100 miles away. Total absolute hypocrisy of the highest order.

What are home attendances like for Wasps team currently?

Can anyone actually see a good number of people living in Coventry going to support them? Or there current fanbase following them here?

Around 7,000 at the moment for league games. Talk on their boards seems to suggest that very few will want to shift here - it's a bit like us and Northampton in terms of proportion I expect, 70%-90% drop off.

I don't think Cov RFC fans will go if fixtures clash, or if it's somehow seen to damage that club - but in any case that's only 1,000 or so either way. This isn't a rugby supporting hotbed these days.

I can't see them getting more here than they do at Wycombe - I reckon 3,000 to 6,000 after any initial interest wears off. If I'm right, that's going to make the Ricoh feel very empty!

I suspect the RFU wont allow Wasps and Cov fixtures to clash. They will make out how generous they are to Cov Rugby by doing so as well.

Exactly, it seems futile. That article talks of an exciting opportunity and making connections with the local community and making Coventry there home etc.

It all seems like rubbish to me, hardly anyone from Coventry will go to watch them and hardly any of there current fan base will follow them here.

Yet there are far fewer questions why *these* investors want to get their hands on the Ricoh... as opposed to the owners of CCFC, who at least have a fairly obvious reason, even if it happens to be the subterfuge.

It could, of course, be they're nutters or straight up as the day is long... but the automatic acceptance that because they want it (a team from London wanting a Coventry stadium) it must be a fair deal for all, doesn't sit well either.

Shouldn't be too difficult to come up with a rotating seat, one side yellow and black, the other side sky blue. I pity the poor devil that has to rotate them though.

Looks like us the fans have been shafted from both sides...how you can make a business viable without customers is beyond me??

I will give you the perspective of some of my Rugby playing mates. Most rugby fans support their local club, not necessarily Coventry, but the likes of Earlsdon, Barkers etc., that is where they go on a Saturday to either play or watch Rugby. Coventry has a high volume of local Rugby Clubs compared to most areas. But Wasps tend not to play on a Saturday, so their answer is they would go and watch Wasps because of the high standard of Rugby and it wouldn't clash with supporting their local club.

Rugby fans don't seem as tribal as football fans?
