SISU have been waiting for this for years, there's no way they just sit there and don't even make a bid unless they've agreed to sell, in my opinion.

We all love a good conspiracy, particularly one that fucks the club. This just fits though. All the pieces and people are in place. It’s going to happen.

What do you think Cllr Duggins is doing then?

Responding to questions with a one word reply?

Following an outdated population estimate in order to permit unnecessary development of the green belt and the city's fringes and playing fields?

Dragging his heels on HMO orders so that entire areas of the city become dominated by students to the detriment of the others that live there.

Breaking strikes, grandstanding and focussing on grand schemes rather than the day-to-day stuff that really matters.

Don't get me started on what the Council are doing Pete, I've got to work today and it would take too long.

However, I can't honestly see what they actually can do with regard to ACL - genuinely mate, what do you think they can do about it?

I find it all rather intriguing. Besides wanting best for CCFC I like watching the strategy and legal angles being played out.

In a few months / years we might look back at how pivotal these few days are being.

Geekishly sad, I know

So what you’re saying is - expect SISU to own it by the end of the day?

Maybe,

But clearly they’ve had significant contact and dealings in the recent past.

I can totally imagine Ashley reaching out to him to have at least got some info of late if not more.

Sure, but no decision won’t be voted on by the full council, that’s just not how it works. Like Gilbert’s story about a Wasps bailout, would never have happened in a million years and it was just playing on people paranoia.

Entirely justified paranoia...

And as no one really knows what's going on, any remotely plausible theory will have legs.

Is there a link anywhere to that regulation, it's a new one to me mate?

And regardless, don't forget this is the same RFU that raised nary a whimper when Wasps relocated 80 miles north and next door to an established club. They won't stop Wasps moving back down towards their actual home.

I don’t personally share the excitement at the moment about MA until the motives for the purchase become clearer. The idea of the club being distressed and relegated again is hardly appealing.

Not wanting to put a downer on it but Ashley was not a popular guy in Newcastle !! They couldn’t wait to get rid of him - stadium name change should be no issue here !

Unpopular for spending only £35m a season on transfer fees and putting a few signs up.

He might be a prick but he’s nothing compared to what we’ve already been through.

If SISU don't have an intention to sell then it would be fucking embarrasing for them to be in a position to get the stadium and lose out to someone else like this again.

I really hope if Ashley gets the stadium, that a deal for the club is on the cards too. I can't go through much more of these shit cunts. Just got a cautious concern floating around at the moment.

No mate. Not in my lifetime. Not ever. I'm a union man and an ex-Labour party member. Of the left and proud of it. That's why it hurts watching how this Council behaves (edit: with apologies if that's your point too).

Edit2: Which it is, apologies. I'll leave the post here as a monument to my stupidity anyway!

The only thing that puts me off MA is he was very quick to sack managers and it never seemed to improve their situation so it begged the question why. Although I’d be delighted if we had the transfer budget that Newcastle had I’m not sure who was behind recruitment but I don’t rate them, Newcastle seemed to buy a lot of average premier league players but pay transfer fees that in my mind would indicate that they should have been better than they were. Yo yoing between the premier league and championship only seems to confirm my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, he’d be a massive improvement on our current owners. I just hope he puts some faith in Robins and Viveash and leaves the day to day running and recruitment of the team to them. I have more faith in them than I do the managerial roundabout at Newcastle and the recruitment policy at Newcastle.

Maybe if he gets the club as well, we’ll follow the same trajectory as Newcastle and in 10 or so years time we will be owned by an oil rich nation?

Just allowing Robins to sign a couple of decent loanees in January without having to “move” someone on first would be a bonus.

Exactly. I've been a member of the Labour party since 1982 and CCC are shameful. I honestly can't believe they are actually a Labour administration.

Why would you complicate further the deal for the stadium from a company in administration by conflating it with a takeover of a club not in administration. What benefit would it have?

It is quite intriguing, SISU have been waiting for years for a chance like this, so when the door is open for them to make an offer on the ground and it appears they haven’t, you can’t help but think they have something in place already with MA to sell the club after the ground has been acquired???

MA isn’t bothered about being liked as his time at Newcastle shows, but if he keeps Robins and the coaching team in place , gives them money to spend in every transfer window without having to sell ever prize asset we have. He can rename the stadium what he likes and plaster what ever advertising he likes around the ground.

I’m only bothered about what’s on the pitch! Welcome to Coventry MA as far as I’m concerned
