Didn't Simon Jordan mention a property developer being involved

Future of the airport

For now, the future of Coventry airport remains uncertain. There have been plans to develop a factory producing electric batteries for cars on the airport site. This would be a joint venture between The Rigby Group owners and Coventry City Council and would see the airport closed and the site re-developed.

This would create new industry and jobs in the area, but many are keen to keep the airport. There have been objections to this, including from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. As reported by Coventry Live, the CAA objection stated:

"Coventry is very busy at the moment with recreational flying as well as flight training. Coventry Airport has been adjusting to new operating models over many years but has always played an important role in the UK network of GA aerodromes. The airport represents one of only a few of our GA aerodromes large enough to accommodate large airliners making it a viable destination of choice for business aviation. In the short term, and potentially into the future, the abundant space available could be utilized for aircraft storage."

What Happened To The UK's Coventry Airport?

It has been more than a decade since the facility saw commercial services.

I'm guessing this has been picked up on during the covid pandemic, or perhaps not.

Good point. Everyone thought he meant Richardson. What if he meant another potential bidder

Richardson isn’t a property developer. He made his money in insurance but WPS Trading Ltd is who applied for planning persimmon on carpark c

Cov RFC wouldn't want to move. They've got plans of their own at the Butts, and they're trying to do it in a steady, sustainable way. I know, that approach will never catch on.

The whole exercise at CRFC is to ensure the Rugby Club has security of its own ground

So anything else is a no go

Last night I felt hopeful that the club would finally 'own' the stadium and now after reading the shenanigans of today I wish someone would just fucking bomb the place to bits.
It's cursed.

Does Richardson or his companies still own the right to build on Car Park C?

From my understanding, you can stick a planning application of a 100ft statue of Ann Lucas pointing over at the Arena with the epitaph of 'I did this' on car park 'C' and it would need to be considered.

Does anyone remember Fisher talking about getting AEG(?) in to run the stadium if SISU ever got their hands on it? Someone out there will have a link, I'm sure...

It got as far as AEG giving a presentation to the council but obviously never went any further.

Not sure they'd come back in, they'd be looking the hall as a music venue rather than exhibition space I suspect and they now have Wolves Civic.

And to think SISU were the Council’s preferred bidder when they first rocked up!! Who’d have thought it would all go to fuck? Two-faced, mealy mouthed bunch of cunts, and that’s just SISU.

There was zero chance of Sisu even making an offer for the stadium let alone getting them on board. It was a fantasy

It was on the Wasps FB forum. I joined a while ago to see what was going on but couldn’t bring myself to leave as it was too funny watching them melt down.

I gave him what for but the post has since been deleted.

The application was “withdrawn” because the proposal hadn’t been progressed.

Can we just acknowledge, now there’s talk of them being bought out - there’s no outrage from Wasps fans on behalf of the redundant non playing staff? Surely given how gutted they were for for them they should annoyed these new potential buyers aren’t offering new jobs to these people

So we're thinking SISU won't make an offer for the stadium and won't be given first refusal anyway, really hope stuff going on behind the scenes with someone buying us and the stadium, otherwise what's the point of ccfc existing with just renting a ground and no investment
