Would be a little funny if the root of the structural problems was the allergies Incester shirt buried in there…

Does anyone remember Fisher talking about getting AEG(?) in to run the stadium if SISU ever got their hands on it? Someone out there will have a link, I'm sure...

I actually haven't given up all hope yet that the club might miraculously end up with the stadium, but hey, I'm a city fan, what else have we got?!

I'm still genuinely convinced we'll be in a better place for all of this, getting rid of the franchise rugby team is just an added bonus.

think it’s more wishful thinking on your part mate. great wasps have gone but doesn’t make our situation any clearer if anything more messy

Shouldn't this read

We've backed a bid to develop an Investment Zone in the area to replace the commercial heart of the City of Coventry, Coventry Airport!

Can't see why they can't place this factory somewhere else, unless it just another smoke and mirrors policy by CCC,

Madness for a city to close off any future access to their nearest airport.

A mothballed airport makes better economic sense for a city than no airport what-so-ever.

OK this is getting spooky now.

I looked on Wikipedia and it links him to a guy called Nick Candy who was part of a consortium who tried to buy Chelsea off Abramovich, it also says his company has stakes in Blippar and Crowdmix, those deals were facilitated by none other than this guy.

It’s more what feel like facts
Grendel - cbs is a grey elephant
Shmmee - the 250 year lease should be given to the people of coventry and a nominal rent should be paid by ccfc for its use

I'm sure the thought that we might end up with the arena probably is wishful thinking, but the facts are that we've still got a lease and now we're the sole tenant with any clout who is left at the ground.

I think anyone who worries about us getting booted out any time soon hasn't really grasped that.

At worst we're in the same position but with a new landlord and without the pitch being churned up every other week.

So we’re being bought by a billionaire consortium that tried to buy Chelsea… oh, I’ve just woken up! We’d never be so lucky unfortunately. It does seem like an extraordinary coincidence though!

That much was obvious when people were popping metaphorical champagne corks on here yesterday. So premature. This is all very complex and many of the players involved in situations like this are secretive and treacherous. I'll have a nice drink if and when CCFC are in the hands of an owner we can trust, but I'm not holding my breath.

I don’t care about Wasps. But If joining forces with Wasps makes CCFC a better proposition for an investor then fine.

frankly I have always just wanted rid of SISU. I don’t care how we achieve that

SISU have access to funds if the deal is right.

The 250 year lease has a value and if SISU almost compartmentalise ACL / Newleaseco then things stack.

It’s the whole rent v mortgage argument. You can get a mortgage on a flat in Kenilworth Court even though it’s technically a lease.

SISU are letting another entity have the benefit of the rent that CCFC are paying currently; like paying a landlord who then uses your rent to pay their mortgage.

Compartmentalised SISU would benefit from rent from CCFC plus F&B plus conference income etc.

SISU have cards to play. One question is, would Wasps paying, say £500k per year rent be beneficial, or, are Wasps taking potential supporters away from CCFC.

Can’t see SISU standing shy right now.

Wasps. Are. Bust. Gone. Kaput.

Joining forces with them would make us a better investment in the same way that wearing a ball and chain would make you a better marathon runner.

if i was an investor i would look at bringing

CRFC to the CBS - will be at the same level as Wasps with local support and no baggage (could sell the Butts to help fund any deal)
Wasps netball - Rename them Coventry City netball - would be good for community links and get more girls involved with the club

and at that point we could up our game on the conference and events side - there is no reason we couldnt turn a profit

if buying the stadium we should buy it free of dilapidations - so if we pay £25m it is on the condition that it is in an as new condition, which is the duty of the freeholder to ensure

About the only aspect of that that has even a remote chance of happening is rebranding the netball team.

At best, Wasps will be in the Championship next season. Debt free perhaps, but now with zero arena income.

Crowds of a couple of thousand at the very most.

They won't need a 32,000 seat stadium, and they won't be able to afford a six figure rent of any kind, unless they want to end up in admin again within a season.

Cov RFC wouldn't want to move. They've got plans of their own at the Butts, and they're trying to do it in a steady, sustainable way. I know, that approach will never catch on.
