Also just seen its their best run of form at the CBS ( 6 Wins in a row ) in 5 years and the crowds are still shite .. nobody cares about them in Coventry

We all know they won't be here in 5 years

If only there was some sort of German word that perfectly describes how I feel about them falling apart.

I doubt that. I would guess the next refinancing will be more standard and over a far longer period - it’s clearly not working and there is little local interest in the club but the cost of moving is worse so it will be a case of drifting on

Until what ? Liquidation

Well I hope they do eventually piss off .. the stadium besides 1 or 2 badges feels like ours .. wasps have practically nothing there anymore .. feels like they aren't here anymore already tbh

ironically it’s more the rent we pay them that’s the direct offset

They always said the spend per head for football matches was lower but the average number of heads has increased by significantly, probably not much worse off than they were 2014-2019 in relation to match day income across both teams but receiving a larger rent.

they won’t be liquidated. The caring sharing council gave them a 250 year lease which is independently valued at £60 million. That’s an asset I’m afraid that lenders will let them borrow on

Despite a lot of bragging that the bond was a brilliant initiative it clearly failed and again the loan remains outstanding. A more traditional finance arrangement will allow them to pay down capital and spread reduced payments over a longer time period

They are not going anywhere. I’m sure in a perfect world they’d like to but they are trapped

I’d guess we are laying around £1.2 million to them in rent - that’s at £24 a ticket adding over a 12 game season is effectively adding 5,000 people to every game for them

It is ironic but the Sisu master plan not only has failed but is now ensuring wasps survival

Don’t know how people find the attendances, they always seem impossible to find. I think there’s a reason for that though…

I’m sure they’ll refinance but it won’t be through bonds and the interest will be punitive.

The total Will stay on their balance sheet and their annual losses will get worse.

I really don’t know how they get out of it.

Presumably the costs of running the stadium (assuming the football bit is covered by the £1.2m, or at least doesn't extend outside of our matchdays) are met by Wasps, in which case the huge hike in energy costs will have disproportionately hit the rugby club a lot more than us (add in their Henley operation, too)

Fair enough, yet I still think I may be right at Wasps having been disproportionately hit with the increased costs for the non matchday running of the CBS. Come to think of it, a lot of other football clubs will have been similarly hit disproportionately compared to us.

Deluded the vast majority of that lot.

Almost 10 years 'building a fanbase in Coventry' and they mever muster more than 6.5k paid for tickets even for the big games.

Tigers and saints have more fans there when its meant to be an insects homegame.

Bar a very miniscule percentage of this city, literally no one in Coventry cares about them and thats surely not viable?

it is viable it’s if there really is very much point to it and how long fans from the south are prepared to travel

They have announced it as 9,077 but that's obviously including season tickets & giveaways that didn't actually attend.

Even if it was correct, it's the lowest attendance in the Premiership this weekend.

I think the most stupidest person on the planet knows that they wasn’t 9,000 people at the CBS yesterday. 5,000 people never attended? Utter dribble Drabble from London wasps.

Sounds reasonable, I think they could get that cumulatively over a 24 game season.

The 'what's on' page is very sparse.

Within Coventry near Birmingham is an odd way of putting it, hardly a beacon of positivity for the city if the selling point is its near Brum.

Interesting really, not sure how they calculate the spend per head at rugby matches (usually published with the bond reports) but they must use the actual rather than notional attendance figures? Otherwise they understate!

That reminds me, I used to play football with a bloke called Cardigan. Decent enough player but hopeless in the air. Not much of a jumper.
