Gives Somebody a chance to make a name for themselves! Plus will test mentality etc, no issue tbh
I’d like to see Jamie Overton given a go supposedly the quickest in div 1red ball cricket on the county circuit

Been like that for a while. Partly due to divisional cricket and partly wages. Us, Notts, Yorks been doing it for a while. Surrey do produce youngsters but also raid weaker counties. Durham particularly hard hit last few years.

Exactly it’s harsh and the counties top end bottom end becoming further apart but it’s the food chain of it all.

All counties are doing it in div 1 so hard to blame a select few, Notts taking Leicestershire and Derbyshire lads is most definitely the most common!

Just listened to Goughie on talksport somebody said about picking Porter? as he is the quickest and goughie wouldn’t have it and said Stone is far quicker. That’s the other Overton isn’t it goughie again said he is the faster brother

Porters not quick quick 79-85 he’s never been seen a quickie just does a bit with the ball.

Yeah Craig played in the winter he’s about 78-82 but can bat a bit.
Jamie more a number 10 but 85-90

I would have a guess at my squad but it’ll be miles off what they go with!

Is my guess no Broad and I think if Stone can keep fit that will be about it for the inconsistent Broad, I heard KP putting the boot in saying he should have been dropped ages ago. Warwickshire signing new quicks says to me they have had word on Stone and are looking to replace him.

Bears will be well stocked for pace even with Rankin wright and probably barker going, as hopefully Brookes will come back well.

I’d have pretty much the same, don’t know if both Denly and Pope would go seems batsmen heavy maybe J. Overton as well as another option.

You’d imagine Ali, Rashid and Leach should all pay but no idea how they fit them in!

Denly Ali plus one as top three and Rashid as the other spinner bit of a risk having to leggies though.

There is a side on Twitter and Porter is in for Vince but I think that Vince will go

Agree, he’s on the current radar, supposedly best English player of spin, could open.

It's a double-edged sword. Too many counties but too few opportunities for young English players at many top counties - either blocked by old pros or the accursed kolpak players.
Still many counties bringing in young SA, Aus and Zimb players to groom for the future.

Hants having Edwards, Steyn and Abbott as their pace line up is a massive farce imo!

Holland is an Aussie and Berg another OAP Kolpak.
When it was 1 or 2 per county the argument that it was usually top quality Test players improving the competition was fair enough. But now it's run of the mill players at best.
Is there any genuine reason why Essex should be bringing In Vijay on a 3 game contract?

Should be a limit to 1 overseas for red ball a season, they can come and go as they please etc but you can’t replace!
Worked so well for Warwickshire with Patel!

The bears have been spoilt having Patel as he is player still at the top of his game who is overlooked/no longer interested in international cricket

And committed to the cause, may make counties try and find a bit of a gem who wants to develop, if you can get a Lara or a Donald then fair play.

No Woakes tomorrow
Not allowed to play by the ECB odd considering the amount of Cricket he’s missed this season!

All very well but could we actually get a specialist batsman or two in for next season?

Higgins from what I know is a bit like Aaron Thomason, more suited to the white ball (think Glos have given more chances in red as a Middlesex hardly played), but you’re right need an opener and a another middle order bat, Hain is going to have to move to 4, Lamb deserves another go but not sure if ready for div 1 and Hose needs to step up!

There is a real shortage of quality openers around, I should ask my brother to ask Ian Bell when he sees him at the school gates to see what he knows as they spoke about Sam Hain recently. I had forgotten about Hose I see a you lad has just made a double hundred in the seconds and what has happened to Umeed?

Yates, yeah don’t know much about him think he’s 18ish so hopefully start of something.
Umeed I read he’s got a 2 year deal with Cricket Scotland so I assume he’ll just go and play for them only, he made a couple of ground out tons but literally couldn’t buy a run around the tons!

Looks like it'll be a washout next few days which is of course a good thing for us and Kent.

Porter on fire this morning doing his England chances no harm. Is he quick enough to merit dropping Broad, Woakes or Curran for? I'd be more inclined to give Overton or Stone a go personally.

He’s got to be given a go at some point, I haven’t seen enough of him but he seems to get a lot bowled or LBW so says he may nip it out the pitch a bit so might be more suited to English conditions.

Didn't think he is supposed to be quick - Around 80. More of an Anderson type bowler - movement and swing rather than a Fast bowler

Not sure if you have put it already iss but Zak Chappell will sign for Notts and just been reading leg side Lizzy there is a bloke on twitter moaning that teams like Notts and Warks are using the smaller counties as breading grounds and then stealing the players as they produce none of their own.

Chappel to Notts then. Also they are after Joe Clarke apparently - now that's a batsman warks should be in for if available.
