Chief Commentator!
I know its been mentioned on here before in conversation, but dont recall there being a post (hence me creating one).
This afternoon an email from the club came through, inviting companies to express an interest in replacing City Link!
I wonder, 2 things;
1. Why such a short contract for a short sponsor? Doesnt seem that long ago since we had the Cassidy bro's on our shirts
2. Why arent City Link interested in renewing?
(For anyone interested in the email content
The Sky Blues search for new shirt sponsor
We are searching for a new club sponsor for next season as our current sponsorship with the UK's leading premium express delivery company City Link concludes at the end of the current campaign.
The club sponsorship sees the company’s logo on home and away shirts worn by all players and also on the retail kits purchased by fans, as well as many other benefits that help to raise the profile of the sponsor.
Tynan Scope, corporate sales manager for Coventry City, said: “City Link have been a great sponsor and partner to the club and we would like to thank them for their support over the past three seasons and we look forward to remaining closely connected to the company.
“The club has taken great strides in recent months and there is huge potential to move forward with a new kit sponsor and partner.
“We have had interest from local and national companies but we still want to hear from other businesses who can see the major benefits this sponsorship opportunity could bring. We are looking to work with the right partner, a company that is engaging with the club and our supporters.
“It leads to exposure on our website, which has more than 20,000 hits a day, on over 200,000 match tickets per season and elsewhere across the web, as well as in the local and national media including TV.”
Tim Brown, sales and marketing director for City Link, said: “We've really enjoyed the partnership with Coventry City over the past three years. It's been great to work with our local club and to promote our brand nationally and within the Coventry community. We wish the club and the fans all the best for next season and beyond.”
