I'm afraid we have a problem there its only loaned to us for matchdays and would be cup tied if it played

  • Invited Category One academy sides (Premier League and Championship) will continue to participate in the tournament.
  • All Category One sides will play their group games AWAY from home.
  • The tournament will now be regionalised until the quarter-final stage.
  • Each EFL Club must play its 'Full Available Strength' in and during all matches.
  • Full Available Strength means EFL clubs must include at least four qualifying players in the ten outfield players named in their starting XI.
  • The four qualifying players must either (a) start the preceding fixture (b) start the fixture immediately after (c) be in the top ten of appearance makers for the club so far that season (d) have made forty or more first team starting appearances in their career to date.
  • Each Category One club must include at least six players in their starting XI who were aged under 21 as of the 30 June 2017.

So
LO'B

Dion KE Hyam Davies Shipley or Haynes

Vincenti Stevenson Devon KE

Beavon McNulty Biamou (take off at half time )

This is only to fit in with the rules and maybe only just about does that

Fine, but we need some more movement from him. Far too static in that last game.

Are Haynes/Vincenti/Beavon even fit yet?

Haynes had his first training session last week, Vincenti reported by Robins to still be hobbling prior to Crewe, Beavon played on Saturday.

To be fair it doesn't, I'd happily put out traffic cones with Sky Blue shirts on against Walsall rather than risk more of our players getting injured

Had a brain fart, I was there Saturday and even complimented how well Beavon played when he came on haha :banghead: Yeah Vincenti apparently has a gash on his knee that is taking time to heal so I think he's potentially out for another week. Good news about Haynes tho!

Play the under 12s and say we're an elite development team.

Does anybody know if any teams got fined last season and how much ?
Just pay anyfine fine and play the team that best suits winning on Saturday at Barnet and our promotion drive.
Promotion back to League 1 is more valuable than progressing in the Tin Pot Cup.

I'm pretty sure Luton got fined, I've got the figure £12.5k in my head but don't know if I'm just imagining it.

We should easily satisfy the rules by starting with Davies, Beavon, Biamou and McNulty. All could do with the match practice and the forwards all need a goal to boost their confidence

I'd go with:

O'Brien
Dion KE - Willis - Davies - Camwell
Devon KE - Stevenson - Shipley - Finn
Beavon
Ponticelli

Davies, Willis, Beavon and Devon Kelly-Evans would satisfy the four qualifying players rule. Take Willis and Devon off at half-time. I get the whole 'keep a winning run going' thing but after three games in seven days, we should be resting as many of our first team as possible.

I reckon we'll see both DKE's together for the first time. Wonder if identical twins have ever played together in an English pro game?
Could be an interesting story for SKY on what is a quiet football night

Slightly(?!) off topic, but has the Checkatrade final DVD been released yet? - agree with the 'protect the first team' ethos with regards to the Walsall match (but always want to win, even though I know it doesn't matter. I'd take a 3-0 defeat if it guaranteed us a point - hopefully 3- on Saturday!) The one Barnet player I'm worried about is that Shaquille Coulthirst.

Cant see an away win here. Lose 2-0. Should give finge players a full 90 mins here. Make as many changes as possible.

Exactly the side I'd go for, though Robins might give McNulty a run out to build his fitness again...

Is Nazon ineligible for this /has he already joined his team on international duty?

Golden chance to give Ponticelli some time in a match that does not matter.

I can see this being 3-1 to Walsall. Obviously would like to win as with any game but can see Robins using it as a training session.

My take on it is that McNulty, Beavon, Biamou and Potichelli would all be hoping to score to try to force their way into the team for the live televised game on Saturday

I would make as many changes to the squad that I could then make a couple of subs after a few minutes. Just get the two players you want to take off collide with each other.

Davies cup-tied tonight so won't be playing. Leaves us vert short in defence if Robins wants to keep McDonald or Willis fresh

Yeah Davies played against Fulham for Portsmouth in the Checkatrade so will be cup tied.

I guess Hyam could come in as one.
