I’m so, so amazed. One of our worst attackers in City history.

Either we’re banking on Godden and Walker to hold up for the rest of the season or we have someone coming in.

He's not even top 5, which given the competition isn't an endorsement of Waghorn.

"Martyn has a high work ethic and knowledge of this division," boss Mark Fotheringham told the club website.

Funnily enough, half the country aren’t professional athletes.

Bloke never really had a chance from the off with some fans cause he wasn’t Max Biamou

Couldn’t knock his effort, just a signing that hasn’t worked out which happens at every football club from time to time, good luck to him

Well Max could run about and annoyed the opposition, so nothing at all like the static Waggy

I’ll go three goals for the rest of the season. Can’t fault his effort and they might put him on penalties.

It’s easy to say in hindsight but he never really suited our system

His legs had gone to be a number 9, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start in a deeper role for Hudds

Get Roy O’Donovan out of retirement, he’d do a better job.

Edit: he’s not even retired!

Thank fuck

Worst £ for £ signing of the Robins era considering wage i feel

I actually ended up actively disliking him and i haven't done that about a player since Neil Wood

That's probably Hilssner considering he didn't play a game. Waghorn not far behind though.

It’s nonsense - he was ok when he first came and played well early on

injuries and illness took their toll but you can tell he’s a player whose played a good level all his career

The nonsense ratings against Wrexham were embarrassing- he set up a goal players well enough and yet Tavares - who was pitiful really - gets rated higher

Harrison Nee on the bench against Burnley then, definitely wont get a chance. My guess is Palmer up top if Vik needs to come off

Gotta disagree there Grendel hes fucking shit mate. Cant pass, cant run, cant score, cant hold the ball up, cant find space, hes useless.

He was a decent player 4 or 5 years ago, but he's long past championship level

Certainly a bad decision in hindsight to sign him, but considering his history and the fact he scored a few in a struggling for goals Derby side the season before we signed him it wasnt that bad of a pickup, first 10 games he looked like the perfect foil for Vik, I think the injuries and Covid took it out of him and he is in fact finished now. Good luck to him though

“Injuries and illness took their toll” is doing an incredible amount of work here - Waggy himself would be proud.

Its a possibility that covid could have played a part, he wouldn't be the only pro sportsman impacted long term by getting covid

NHL’s Brandon Sutter says long Covid has sidelined him for entire season

NHL veteran Brandon Sutter says he is still suffering from symptoms of long Covid a year after he first contracted the virus

Let's not hate on Waghorn to much, think he was clearly a decent professional and a good player to have in the dressing room and training ground.

However the right decision to move him on, high wage and picks up too many injuries and when he does play hasn't produced enough.

There’s also that Striker who was at Leeds a few years back on loan who was said to have a very bright future but got long covid and it has affected him and now at 24 ish he’s a backup at Basel and not thought about very highly anymore

I’ve made that up then? First 10 games seemed fairly popular on here if I recall - never shied away when bought back in the team

I think he’s a consistently hard worker, but has shown precious little quality, especially in front of goal. Given his lack of fitness and poor finishing, his pedigree isn’t immediately obvious to those not refreshing his Wikipedia page during the game. I haven’t seen him look on the same wavelength as his teammates in a long time now.

I know. I am saying going to a championship club can't be proof of a player being good if you ignore it for players you dislike.
