I'm currently between jobs on 'gardening leave' with too much time on my hands. I'd like to put a bit back into the community. Does anyone know of any websites/avenues I could pursue to fill my time and help out?

Fair play mate. In the short term I’d definitely suggest NHS volunteering/GoodSam

Homepage

Recruiting Steward Volunteers now. NHS Volunteer Responders was set up by the NHS and Royal Voluntary Service to provide support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
nhsvolunteerresponders.org.uk

They are crying out for more volunteers in certain cities to help the final vaccination push so I’m sure any assistance would be appreciated

All the best !

Maybe try Sky Blues in the Community.

NEWS: Coventry City says 'thank you' to its volunteers!

This week is Volunteers’ Week, and we’re taking this chance to say a big THANK YOU to all of the volunteers across Coventry City Football Club and Sky Blues in the Community for their hard work!

Do IT | Connecting people to do good things

Do IT helps people build meaningful connections, do good things, and feel healthier and happier as a result.
do-it.org

I've used this and done various voluntary work from here. You apply, they contact you and then you go and have a chat. You can choose what type of things you like to do to help filter opportunities in your area.

Happy to do some more odd jobs mate, but I struggle to keep up with your missus. She's a right live wire isn't she?

Anyway, bell me on 0898 696969 and I'll sort your boiler.

Please note, I'm fine with heights, but I don't like widths.

15 years ago I spent some time volunteering for Warwickshire Wildlife Trust based in Brandon. I had a great time helping to maintain their nature reserves, using different tools and mixing with older people. It was also good to discover many hidden corners of our county that I hadn't seen before.

I now volunteer coaching our local under 9s team. One of the best things I’ve ever done. Seeing new players score there first goal , the bad players getting gradually better with each game and the kids just enjoying football. Would highly recommend
